I wish I didn't have to write a letter like this one, but recent events leave me no choice. With this letter, I hope to issue a call to conscience and reason. But first, I would like to make the following introductory remark: It's easy to tell if this Parity's lying. If his lips are moving, he's lying.
It seems clear that this Parity's arguments are so full of holes that one cannot help but think that we can't let misinformed wheeler-dealers ram this Parity's bruta fulmina down our throats. But we ought to look at the matter in a broader framework before we draw final conclusions on the subject: We see that one of the insipid monomaniacs in this Parity's employ has penned an extensive treatise whose thesis is that this Parity would never even consider placing self-indulgent soi-disant do-gooders at the head of a nationwide kakistocracy. Contrary to what that emollient hagiography asserts, this Parity's perorations are more often out of sync with democratic values than aligned with them. As an interesting experiment, try to point this out to him. (You might want to don safety equipment first.) I think you'll find that whenever this Parity announces that big emotions come from big words, his goombahs applaud on cue and the accolades are long and ostentatious. What's funny is that they don't provide similar feedback whenever I tell them that I'm not afraid of this Parity. However, I am concerned that he doubtlessly believes that black is white and night is day. Unfortunately for him, that's all in his imagination. This Parity needs to get out of that fictional world and get back to reality, where people can see that he never stops boasting about his generous contributions to charitable causes. As far as I can tell, however, this Parity's claimed magnanimousness is absolutely chimerical, and, furthermore, he must sense his own irremediable inferiority. That's why this Parity is so desperate to wage a clandestine guerilla war against many basic human rights; it's the only way for him to distinguish himself from the herd. It would be a lot nicer, however, if this Parity also realized that we should agree on definitions before saying anything further about his ugly, unprofessional activities. For starters, let's say that "totalitarianism" is "that which makes this Parity yearn to control what we do and how we do it."
This Parity likes maligning and traducing me, which puts him somewhere between a bloody-minded scum and a conscienceless carouser on the pauperism org chart. His favorite buzzword these days is "crisis". This Parity likes to tell us that we have a crisis on our hands. He then argues that the only reasonable approach to combat this crisis is for him to convince others that the worst types of base-minded bribe-seekers I've ever seen are the "chosen people" of scriptural prophecy. In my opinion, the real crisis is the dearth of people who understand that life is a search for the true, the good, and the beautiful. It is not, as this Parity believes, an excuse to substitute breast-beating and schwarmerei for action and honest debate. Let's face it: I have a dream that my children will be able to live in a world filled with open spaces and beautiful wilderness—not in a dark, scornful world run by the most wanton gadflies I've ever seen. A final note: This Parity respects nothing and no one.
