so the Raiders are the 3rd best team in the AFC west at 7-7... which is a better record than first place in the NFC West

total wins in the NFC west = 21
total wins in the AFC west = 27

do you guys still think the AFC west almost as terrible as the NFC west?

They have to at least tie with everyone else. As of right now, they are still a win behind both STL and SEA.
we play the rams next...

Arizona has Dallas...The Seahawks play Tampa Bay ..

i am 100% sure we will beat the Rams, it's already given that Arizona and Seattle will lose their games.

We head to our last game against Arizona and take it all...

It will happen, believe me!

took this from sfgate.com for some people that don't understand how the 49ers can win the division...

No. 1 -- Lose to St. Louis, and it's over. Can't make up to two games in a season finale versus visiting Arizona. And, even if they beat the Rams, they need Seattle to lose once or they fall a game short.

All the others are if they beat the Rams.

No. 2 -- The 49ers beat Arizona, and Seattle loses one of two to Tampa Bay and St. Louis, creating a three-way tie for first place. The 49ers win the first tiebreaker by virtue of a superior 5-1 NFC West record.

No. 3 -- If the 49ers beat Arizona and finish tied for first with only the Rams -- which means Seattle went 0-2 -- they win the tiebreaker by virtue of a 2-0 record in head-to-head matches with the Rams.

you STILL haven't answered my question!

good job at avoiding it

I'll answer your question... would I hate it?

I don't really care... you guys will likely lose in the first round, and a playoff spot will just be a reason to bring back Singletary and Alex Smith... so it would suck for you guys

I really don't give a shit either way though

I said WHY do you think you'll win

you responded by saying you will win

If I asked "Will you win?" you would have answered my question... but I didn't. Obviously basic comprehension is an issue for you... don't worry about it bro, it's okay.

I'm not "worried" about the NFC West... just partaking in a discussion on a message board...

I'm not gaining anything out of it... just something I do in my spare time... like anyone who posts on the siccness........

I don't understand why some raiders fans are obsessed with the 9ers..... Honestly I think the raiders have progressed a hell of a lot this year and are actually a pretty good team now...

The 9ers have regressed or at least failed to improve much this year, but with that said we beat the raiders, have a better chance to make the playoffs, and a better draft pick next year.. I guess that would be frustrating as a 9er hater to realize all that...

Ima die hard 9er fan but I can admit we don't deserve to make the playoffs, teams that have had better seasons will miss and an NFC west team will get in with a worse record, but if we make it, then hey I'm all for it... I think we are a few key players from being a solid team, and we were a few key plays away from winning at least 3 more games and beating some good teams... But sometimes the better team is the team who makes less mistakes, and that just hasnt been the 9ers this year...

All you guys are doing is just speculating, and its dumb. This season has been very unpredictable, and the playoffs are going to be the same. NFC West sucks and so does AFC West, lets leave it at that.

the AFC West really doesn't suck that much

the best team int he West has 9 wins... the third best team in the AFC West has 7 wins

the best team in the NFC West has 6 wins

quit comparing the divisions

Aren't the raiders 2-2 vs NFC west? Aren't the 9ers 2-2 vs afc west teams? Yeah, matter of fact I'm thinking off the top of my head, but I think all the raiders wins and the 9ers wins have been against afc west or NFC west teams, did y'all beat anyone outside those two divisions? Dont think so, neither did the 9ers and I think we had a tougher schedule philly, Atlanta, new Orleans, Tampa bay. Lol we did play carolina tho haha that was pathetic... I'm not sure who the raiders played but I kno pittsburg n Jacksonville and the colts coming up... So raiders have played sum good teams.... It just goes to show tho u can dominate the teams in ur division, but u gotta get it done against other teams too or u might miss the playoffs

Why is this about 49ers and raiders?

Anyway I am and will always be a 49er fan but the NFC West is in a sad state, this past weekend marked the 3rd time this year that the entire NFC West has went 0-4. All these teams need help.

Why I can never root against the 49ers, it does scare me that they could go to the playoffs and end up keeping the same coaching staff and possibly the same QB. On top of that, winning the division will get you a draft pick no earlier than 21 I believe.

What I think SF needs the most is a competent GM. Just because you own a team does not make you knowledgeable enough to properly run and manage one.

I think it's gonna take more than just a playoff birth to keep singletary around and as far as our QB situation unless Alex is super bowl MVP this year he's gone

9ers gotta win out.. Tampa bay better beat seattle...

Once ur in the playoffs it don't matter what ur season record was
