New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a side-scrolling platform video game being published and developed by Nintendo for the Wii video game console and is the sequel to New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS. The game was first announced at Nintendo's press conference at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009, and is scheduled for release on November 15, 2009, in North America, and November 20, 2009 in Europe. It will be the first game in the Mario main series since Mario Bros to feature simultaneous multiplayer gameplay, and the first Wii title to feature Nintendo's new 'Super Guide' feature where players will be able to pause the game, let the game complete the level for them, and resume play at any time by unpausing. This is only available in single player when a player has failed to complete a level eight times. New items have been added, including a Propeller Suit which allows players to fly and a Penguin Suit which allows players to freeze enemies.
