This is a good site and he put into words something about Mitchy Slick that makes him stand out from a lot of other SD rappers:
I just mean that his music entrenches itself in a place. He talks about specific streets, corners, and outposts that you would never know about unless you lived in Southeast San Diego, using slang that you wouldn’t understand unless you were from Southeast San Diego. For outsiders, it’s a glimpse into the heart of his neighborhood. For residents, it’s a heartfelt tribute.
that sums up why dudes music is so dope and a lot of other SD rappers dont do this...i know one of my boys that just started listening to SD music was saying that none of the other local rappers get specific and paint that picture of the coast or the hood the way mitch describes the dip...wrongkind does for lincoln what Snoop and them were doing for long beach
