i use Final Cut Pro. i convert them to ProRes 444. thinking of switching it to 422 HQ because its been kind of lagging on my computer


EDIT: switched to ProRes 422 (LT) because its the smallest file size and pretty much keeps the same quality

^^ yo my bro recently bought the same camera as u. but i guess the file size is too big and makes the comp lag when he tries to edit the video on Final Cut??? any ideas on how to resolve this/fix it?

you have to search online for the Canon EOS plug in for FCP and install that (only takes a minute). then log and transfer all the footage into FCP. you should change the settings so that it converts everything into ProRes 422 (LT)
