I think the drums are pretty weak...try sampling some new ones cause those just don't have the "slap" needed for rap music. The drums are also mixed very low so you may want to bring em up a bit. My only other issue is that your insturment selection sounds more like an Enya song than a rap beat.

Keep doing your thing...we all get better with time and hard work.

You can do some tight shit with the new fruity loops from what I hear, but the bottomline is you have to have good samples and know what you are doing sonically to make shit right.

Big E... picture yourself at a drumkit. What would they sound like? What would the stereo image be? Would every snare, clap, hi hat, kick have the same velocity each time?


The kick is in the middle. Snare slightly to the left. Hihat even more to the left but not nearly all the way. Crashes to the right or centered.... stuff like that...

Think of these things and other stuff like it.

this reminds me of something I was wondering....


how would a drum machine usually run for? and I was also curious as to how they work. Ive never encountered one, but Ive seen 'em in magazines/videos and shit like that.
