HERE'S A NEW REVIEW FROM YUNG G FROM WEST COAST AFTERSHOCK.COM
Mac & AK - Hustle Music vol.1
After taking a break since their last release, "Money Rhymes", Mac & AK are at it once again with their new album "Hustle Music vol.1". The album was released on E&K Music Group, and features the likes of The Game, Sean T, Noble (Outlawz), G-Dub, and more.
01. Intro (Hu$tle 101)
Just a coo intro, laced with some lyrics, introducing the album.
02. "Play This" feat. D.S.P.
Coo song, good beat. On this one they are talkin about what they're bringin and that we need to be listenin to they're shit.
03. "Git It Right"
Okay song, but i didn't really feel the beat that much on this one.
04. "Oh No !"
This is a good song. They are spittin some clean shit, and the production is on point. They're talkin bout no one wantin to see them basically.
05. "Dirty Jersey 2 E.P.A." feat. Young Noble (Outlawz)
Nice beat, followed by good lyrics. They all come hard, and represent.
06. "Let Em Know"
They're basically talkin about how they're lettin everybody know how they get down.
07. "Act A Fool"
They're spittin some hard shit, & talkin bout how they smash for the money.
08. "Hu$tle Unconditional" feat. Furious & Ghazi
Tyte song here, the title basically explains the content of it's lyrics.
09. "Jump To This" feat. The Game
One of my favorite songs here. Everyone spits hard, and production is on point again. This is one of those club type songs, that can make you bounce.
10. "Come My Way"
Another one of my favorites here. The production is good, and the lyrics and vocals by the singer were on point. Baiscally about gettin at a female.
11. "California Lifestyle" feat. Money Mont & G-Dub
Good song here. They're basically talkin bout the Cali streets, and their life out here.
12. "It's Nuthin" feat. Scoot Dog & Chunk
Feelin this song. They're basically sayin itz nuthin to be a boss and to do what you do.
13. "Pray 4 Me"
On this one the beat is slowed down, and they're speakin on real life shit that they experience in their lives.
14. "Real Things" feat. Mr.Kee
Another favorite here, they spit well. The beat was slappin too. They're talkin bout being real, and what they do.
15. "Such & Such" feat. Sean T & Re-Akt
Feelin this song alot hear. The beat is slumpin and they are talkin about gettin money and shit.
16. "Go Git It"
On this on they're talkin about goin out and get there's & just trynna have it, nomatter what it is.
17. "Real Live..." feat. D-Moe & Sean T
Good song, they are talkin about being real & live.
18. "Straight Hogz" feat. Lil Ric & Laroo
One of my favorite songs here, some real slowed down Mob type shit, with a slumpin beat.
19. "City Of Strangers"
Talkin about the streets, and where's they're from. Has some nice vocals on the chorus.
20. "When Times Get Hard"
On this one they are talkin about what they do when times get hard. Vocals on the chorus are nice again.
21. "The Struggle" feat. Top Dog Vanzetti
They are talkin about being in love with gettin paid. Good vocals on the chorus once again.
Overall Review:
Overall this was a good album. You got a little bit of everything on the album. They didn't seem like they were trying to aim at a specific "comercial" sound, but just make hard Bay Area music. The production was handled by Mac Pacino, and he did a good job. I couldn't find a single song where the lyrics weren't really matching the beat or where the production just wasn't good at all. This is a good album, and you all should go and pick it up today. I would be on the look out for what Mac & AK have in store for us in 2004. Support Bay Area music !
