Young Hot Rod, G-Unit's newest member, is currently putting finishing touches on his debut album, Fast Lane.

The former mortgage broker-turned-rapper was added to the G-Unit roster last year after his demo reached the hands of 50 Cent. Since, he has been featured on various G-Unit mixtapes and has collaborated with LL Cool J.

"We are working on finishing up my album, Fast Lane, and the video for 'Be Easy' just premiered on '106 & Park,'" Hot Rod saud via a statement. "It's an exciting time."

Rod (born Rodney Toole) is also currently featured on AOL Music's lineup of fall Breaker Artists.


Hot Rod's AOL Sessions performance with G-Unit which launches today (October 6). Fans can also watch the 21-year-old Sacramento-bred lyricist perform "Be Easy," "Chase the Cat" and "Rock To It" in a solo AOL Sessions performance here.

"I'm honored to be chosen as an AOL Breakers," Rod said. " I'm in great company; 50 Cent was a breakers artist at the beginning of his career, and now it's my turn."

Young Hot Rod's Fastlane, which will be executive produced by 50, is slated to hit shelves on November 14th.

he's from sac, but reps arizona. i like the black wallstreet version of 'be easy' hellaaaaa more. and juice (also from arizona and with BWS) is sicker/better.

He's a coo cat...I used to play Madden wid him all the time online. I got a vid of him in a rap battle against some east coast cats at a big Madden tourny in Vegas...when i find it I'll post it up.

being a Mortgage broker is damn good money if you ask me. you cant really hate on that. he's just like any other normal cat that works and raps as a hobby. he's just very fortunate to make it his career. on the flip side of it- he can always get back into the mortgage business if his rap career doesnt go far.
