WOS: How's everything going man?

B.G.: Aw man, everything good man. I can't complain, ya heard me. I can't complain at all.

WOS: You're working on the new album "Heart of the Streets" what can you tell us about it right now?

B.G.: Shit it's hot, ya know what I'm saying. It's hot. It's street. It's that shit niggas in the street pop in and just ride to.

WOS: Who you got featured on it?

B.G.: Really all the same producers I worked with on the last album. I worked with a few young producers that's coming up. I'm trying to put them on.

WOS: When is it going to drop?

B.G.: May 24th.

WOS: "Life After Cash Money" was your first actual album that you reached outside of your circle with guest appearances and producers. How did you enjoy doing that?

B.G.: It was a real good experience you know, because I can get down with anybody on any level on any vibe. It was me really picking my own shit; creating up my own sound.

WOS: You and T.I. sound right together on the two tracks you have put out. Will there be any future collaboration together?

B.G.: Yeah. Me and him got a couple of songs that we got that ain't never been released.

WOS: Will the world get to see that Soulja Slim & B.G. album drop?

B.G.: Yeah, I still got it in the mix

WOS: What was it like to know James Tapp the man and to work with Soulja Slim the artist?

B.G.: I ain't lying, he the same nigga all way around the board. He the same ole nigga. He don't change for nobody man. That's my nigga and I love 'em. I miss him to death. James Tapp and Soulja Slim, the same nigga. Just like B.G. Christopher, it's the same me.

WOS: You gonna have him on the new album?

B.G.: Yeah

WOS: Fa Sho

WOS: You did a few mix tapes last year to setup the buzz for your album. Will there be any new ones released by you before this album?

B.G.: Yeah I just done one. I'm about to leak it. I'm a drop it on my own label. I'm a do one with Whoo Kid, but I'm a send this one out all me, like I did last time.

WOS: When's that gonna drop?

B.G.: I'll probably drop it end of next week. I'm a put like 2-3 more songs on there. It got like 10 on there already.

WOS: I saw a video of Lil' Wayne calling you out to the stage, and he performed "I Miss My Dawgs." How did that come about?

B.G.: Before the show, he told me he wanted me to come up there. He wanted to sing it to me. I was like, 'it's cool. I still got love for shorty. That's my lil' homie.

WOS: What was your response the first time you heard the track?

B.G.: It touched me. It touched me deep.

WOS: I know you have said in interviews and tracks that you have talked with the other Hot Boyz, but has there been any serious talks about a reunion track?

B.G.: Yeah, we talked about it. But really, I'm the only one that's free to do what I want. Turk locked up, Wayne tied up with Cash Money, Juve tied up with Atlantic. I'm the only one that's independent and calling my own shots.

WOS: You did that track "Heard of Me" with C-Murder. How did you two come together and do that?

B.G.: He reached out to me from jail. He wanted me to make it happen. Him and Slim were real close, so I did it for him. I respect him. He's a real nigga.

WOS: Did you enjoy the video shoot?

B.G.: Yeah, yeah.

WOS: A lot of artists in New Orleans are finally coming together and making music after so many years of being divided by labels. How do you feel about that?

B.G.: I'm with it as far as all of us coming together. It ain't nothing for niggas to do them, but it be even stronger if we click clack.

WOS: Who you feeling in the N.O. right now?

B.G.: You got a lot of muthafuckas down here that I feel.

WOS: What is it that you love about your city?

B.G.: This home. I done been all over the world, and I ain't never seen a place like it.

WOS: Is there anything that you dislike about it?

B.G.: Police. They be playing it raw, but other than that, it's cool with me.

WOS: Since leaving Cash Money Records, has your opinion on the rap game changed your focus and goals?

B.G.: I'm more in charge now. It's me calling all the shots. I feel like I bust my ass for them to make all the millions, and I wanna make some for myself.

WOS: A lot of people do not even realize you were the key to Cash Money getting the deal with Universal.

B.G.: I was, I was.

WOS: This was due to sales of your solo albums, but still they put you down saying that you can't do it independent. What you got to tell the haters?

B.G.: To just pay attention. Niggas gonna hold they nuts, ya know what I'm saying. And the haters' makes the world go round, but they ain't gonna stop me. Fuck 'em in the ass, I ain't gonna let them get in my way.

WOS: Has a major distribution deal for Chopper City Records ever crossed your mind, or do you just want to remain independent?

B.G.: It's already in the air. I already got a deal on the table.

WOS: How are you going to market the label and its artists?

B.G.: It's gonna be street. I'm gonna market them the same way the Hot Boyz were marketed. When we come through, we just going to do us.

WOS: You got your brother Hakizzle (Hakim) Who else is with the Chopper City family?

B.G.: I got Gar, Snipe, V.L. Mike. I really ain't got my plate too full right now. Once I set them up and get them out there where they suppose to be, then I'll go to signing other muthafuckas. I got some niggas that's waiting on me to come get 'em.

WOS: What about producers? Is Kidd still down with ya?

B.G.: Yeah man that's my nigga and always gonna be my nigga.

WOS: What is your personal favorite B.G. album and why?

B.G.: Aww man, I don't know. "Chopper City," "Life After Cash Money," all them my favorite. All of them meant something to me at that time. I was going through so much. So all of them.

WOS: What is your personal favorite southern album?

B.G.: I don't even know. I got love for Scarface, 8Ball & MJG, T.I., UGK. There's so much that I got love for.

WOS: Being in the game since you was about 13, how much longer do you see yourself rapping, and when will you feel like it's time to hang up the mic?

B.G.: I don't wanna do this forever. I be 25 this year, and I'm gonna hang my mic up somewhere around 30 and give the game down to my little brother and them.

WOS: With all the dramas over the years put behind you, what is your number one goal right now for B.G.?

B.G.: Blow my brother up and get this money.

WOS: You been through it all in your life. What advice can you offer a young person who wants to do rap for a career?

B.G.: If it's really what you want, don't give it 50 percent because you gonna get 50 percent out of it. Give it 100 percent, your whole. Stay focused, do ya thing, and don't let no one say that you can't.

WOS: Is there anything else that you would like to say before we wrap this up?

B.G.: New album in stores May 24th. "Heart of the Streets." Go cop that!
