some of yall are familiar with the Conte cover ive done.......the customer wants the really plain first version of it.......but im not really proud of it......and i like the latest revison of it, and would like him to use......what do i do? do i do the whole "the customer is always right" or do i insist that he use the better version?

what would you graphic designers do?

Sometimes as designers you have to work with the client in what they want, but at the same time you don't want to put out a product/service that you aren't satisfied with. I say if you're getting paid for it, give him what he wants and don't put your name on it lol

Yeah just give him what he wants, then forget about it. Don't tag it like you do your other work (I own several albums with your work including Bullet & Eastside albums, the Redrum album from Steve and that Smoke "Out The Box" record, maybe a couple more.) When I look at the work you did on Out The Box and several other albums I just can't compare this work on Conte to that, Conte looks just scattered junk compared to that. So, yeah just don't put your name on it. I wouldn't even put that on your portfolio.

I know I'm blatant but I really think you should just eliminate the Conte design period, lol.

Give them what they wan't, if your not proud of the cover... don't put your credits on it.... if I ain't feeling a concept, I get paid, they get the cover.. minus my tag.... win/win situation. Then I post the alternate version on my site.... the one they were not feeling... then I wait for the people to comment on my version and why they feeling it over the cover that went to print.

yeah exactly as what lady said and so others, just simple...

"Give them what they want, and if you're unsatisfied with what you made, yet customer is really happy - just don't put your name on it, but customer will know you for sure"

I think that's probably just the best saying i just quoted (myself)

just let him know that personally you, and others aswell agree, that the newer version is more eye apealing which would help with sales, but that you're willing to go with his choice and leave it up to him...
