I HAVE A LOT OF OLD DATA DISCS FROM ALL MY YEARS RECORDING SHIT AND A LOT OF THE THINGS I DONT REMEMBER WHICH PROGRAM WE DID THEM UNDER AS I HAVE WORKED ON 484872847 STUDIOS.....A LOT OF THE SHIT ISNT PROTOOLS......WHAT OTHER PROGRAMS MIGHT I LOOK FOR SO THAT I CAN READ THESE DISCS AND GET THE MUSIC OFF THEM??KEPP IN MIND MOST OF THESE RECORDINGS AREOVER 5 YEARS OLD AND SOME CLOSER TO 10....I TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE STUDIOS TO FIND INFO BUT MOST OF THEM ARE NO LONGER IN BUSINESS....

SO IF YALL CAN THROW ME SOME SUGGESTIONS ON WHICH PROGRAMS MAY HAVE BEEN USED AND OSSIBLY WHERE I CAN GET THEM I WOULD BE IN YOUR DEBT....I WANT TO REMINISE OVER THESE OLD ASS TRACKS LOL...AND BURN THEM TO CD...

The extesion of the files would be really helpful. For example .cpr .cep

if its a wav file you should be able to import to almost any program.

IM NOT SURE WHICH FORMAT THEY ARE IN....AND I GET NO EXTENSION WHEN I PULL THEM UP....DAMN THIS IS ONE PART OF SHIT I NEVER TRIED TO LEARN LOL..ALL I GET IS THE FILE FOLDERS THEY RE IN...I CLICK ON THE FOLDER AND GET 2 MORE FOLDERS CALLED AUDIO FILES AND FADES....THEN SOMETHING ELSE THAT SAYS NEW FILES....I CLICK ON THEMAND IT SHOWS FILES WITH NO EXTENSION....I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO...

Or you can open the folder and show us a JPEG of what the icons/files look like. To do that press CTRL and PRINT SCREEN (Next to F12 on your keyboard) and upload it here or somewhere else for someone to look at.

The audio files should have an extension of .wav or .aif so go inside of the folder, right click on one of the files, go to properties and see what pops up.

there's a couple sites like http://filext.com/ http://www.ace.net.nz/tech/TechFileFormat.html http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/fileextensionsfull.asp that will list alot of different extensions. they don't have "lol", so searching google is probably your best bet.

Hell, even try and open the file with any audio editor. Like adobeaudition will figure out what kind of file it is, no matter the extension, if it supports it.

Open any folder in your computer, then go to TOOLS, then FOLDER OPTIONS.

Click on the VEIW tab.

Find "HIDE EXTENTIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES" and make sure that is NOT check-marked.

now whenever you're in a folder it'll tell you the extention of all your files (instead of "NEW SONG", your song will be titled "NEW SONG.Wav" or "NEW SONG.Mp3")
