need help installing a dvd burner to my pc

i bought a pioneer dvd/cd writer for my pc and decided to try to install it myself (by the way its my first opening my pc and trying to add sumtion to it) after i fished plugin in all the wires and things i turn on my computer and neither one of my drives work, i dont klnow why this happened, if anyone can help me with this ill really appreciate it thanks

my only guess is that you hooked something up wrong

i've done just about everything to the inside of a computer except change a cd/dvd drive though, so i really don't know.
