need help fast

i have a shure 58 dynamic mic hooked up to a m-audio fasttrack interface, and i just bought a bluetube preamp. for some reason now when we record theres a static noise in the background, how do i get rid of the static?

first thing i would do is check your connections most of the time u got something plugged in wrong or not plugged in all the way.

another thing is maybe if your using "pro tools" i dunno if you are or not change your "buffer size" lower it a bit and try recording it again because for some reason messing with the buffer size will take out the static i think its a glitch in the program.

or maybe its your equiptment who knows it could be a thousand things. dynamic mics are supposed to supply thier own power so your not supposed to hook them up like you would hook up a condenser with "phantom power" so i dunno check the switches read the book. im not that good at technical shit but i hope that helps a little bit?
