need help burning/converting avis

i have 2 avi movies that im trying to convert and split into 2 each to burn as a vcd. i tried TMPGenc and it cant read em cuzz theyre avi. can any1 recommend any programs?

that's the best site for that type of stuff. you can get alot of help there bro. i think there's a plug-in so you can use avi's in tmpgenc. it's mentioned somewhere on there.
