Speed demons rejoice! Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it is working on a new Need For Speed game. And it will be released this November.
Friday, June 23, 2006: Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it is working on a new episode of its phenomenallyNeed for Speed series. Titled Need for Speed Carbon, the game is expected to be released in November this year.
Developed by EA Black Box in Vancouver, British Columbia, Need for Speed Carbon, like its predecessors, will revolve around adrenaline-filled street racing and will challenge players to face the ultimate test of driving skill on treacherous canyon roads.
"We pride ourselves on our ability to reinvent the franchise and continually uncover new and exciting trends in car culture. Canyon Racing is a real test of a driver's skill and we think it provides a fantastic game play opportunity to lean into," said Larry LaPierre, the game's executive producer.
Need for Speed Carbon places gamers in an all-out war for the city, risking everything to take over their rivals' neighbourhoods one block at a time. As the police turn up the heat, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve. Gamers will be able to design and tweak their crew's cars in every way using the new Autosculpt technology.
The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Portable (PSP), PC and mobile platforms.
