NBD (Natural Born Danksters) – Collector’s Item / Platinum Bound Entertainment 2003

Review

Collector’s Item is NBD’s (M-Dash & Tilt) second Album. Check out my thoughts on this Album

1. Represent The Bay

A little introduction to the Album. Laid Back beat provided by Rux. M-Dash starts of with a slow but hard verse, followed by Tilt’s verse. No Hook here. Good way to start the Album.

6/10

2. Smashin feat. (Stizon Skrilla)

Smooth tight beat by Mo Love ; M-Dash, Tilt and Skrilla all come tight! Very good track right here. “You know I’m straight Smashin”

8/10

3. Fuck Somebody (feat. PSD & Mr. Droop)

This one here is straight Pimp Shit! Kinda reminds me of some Mac Dre shit…All rappers flow real nice over this Mo Love Beat. PSD has got to be the perfect feature for songs like these..cool little R&B type Chorus. One of my favs on the Album

9/10

4. Doin it big( feat. Sir Moj & Tweedy)

Funky bassline on this one and a Roger Troutman-like computervoice in the background. The Raps are cool, especially M-Dash’s part. But I don’t like the beat and hook too much…Average Track.
Oh yeah..Song produced by Mo Love

5/10

5. They didn’t know (M-Dash Solo)

Real Nice track right here! M-Dash’s solo track shows that he can definitely hold his own. This is the typical Bay Area sound, nice hook, smooth lyrics, tight beat by Tatem 1.
Can’t wait for the Solo Album!

8/10

6. Stay out my Face

Lovin this beat by Rux & Mondo Manage! “Stay out my face” is some good ol’ MOBB SHIT! M-Dash and Tilt come very clean on this one, but I’m not really feelin the hook. Maybe it will grow on me though. Overall a good track

7/10

7. SLAPPEM WIT THE BANKROLL

My muthafuckin favorite track! Shit’s just too funny…
“I be slappin Bitches wit my bankroll – Oh No! – There she go’ – To the flo’ - K.O.!” is the hook..hahaaha. Pimpish Lyrics and a tight beat by Mo Love. Good shit!

10/10

8. Explicit Nature

Another good track right here. Makes you wanna kick back and smoke a big fat Blunt to!
Produced by Mo Love

8/10

9.Birth Control

Nice little track about fake Bitches… Very tight beat once again and both M-Dash & Tilt got spits fo sho! Heated track (produced by Mo Love)
“Don’t believe the Ho,
when she says she’s on birth control!”

8/10

10. Gafflin’

Very short track about jackin fools… Nothin Special. Beat provided by Mo Love

5/10

11. Crap tables (feat. Rux)

Cool song about gambling…NBD and Rux all come tight on this one. Beat, Lyrics and Hook are really nice. At first I didn’t really like this track, but I bumped it hella loud in my car today and now I’m really feeling it! Mo-Love produced it…

8/10

12. Accumulate paper (feat. Tweedy)

Accumulate paper is a pretty decent track with a funky beat and a girl (I think Tweedy) singing the hook. Flows are on point, but I ain’t feelin the hook. An OK Track.

6/10

13. Touchin every Angle (feat. A-Wax & Mo Love)

Another one my favorites! A slow track with a cool hook. Vallejo – Pittsburg Collabo! A-Wax is one of the hottest Rappers in the Bay right now, same goes for the Natural Born Dankstas! Luvin this track…
“I said be careful what you wish for..He was puzzled,
that was right before his ears start bleedin and piss puddled,
Put your mouth on the curb,
From the V-Town down to the Burg,
These type of things occur!” A-Wax

9/10

14. Permanent Face lifts (feat. Marsh Nut)

Tight shit! Marsh Nut is a good addition to this track. Nice flows and a bangin beat by Rux.

8.5./10

15. There ain’t no Match (feat. Mac & A.K.)

I’ve been a Mac & AK Fan for years and I think these veterans always come tight, Perfect feature for the Album! Another one of my fav. Tracks! Tight, tight, tight! Produced by Rux

9/10

16. Slidin thru (feat. Slim & Tweedy)

lol…Maybe I just don’t like Tweedy, but I ain’t feeling this track at all. The beat is kinda annoying, good raps again, but I still think that’s the worst track of the Album and the only one I skipped.

3/10

17. Wish you were (Larry Logan)

Deep Track dedicated to Larry Logan… good way to end the Album. Produced by Mo Love

8/10

Overall this is a very good album. Something for the weed-smokers, the Bay Rap Lovers and everybody who wanna hear a very well-produced Album with tight raps by M-Dash and Tilt. Mac & AK, A-Wax, PSD of Cutthoat Committee all came supertight. I highly recommend buyin this Album, It’s a Collector’s Item!

Overall Rating: 8 /10
