About Us:
"The Native Network" was founded in 2002 by music business entrepreneur Jaime Scott. Jaime Scott is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in Oregon. Jaime grew up all over but mainly back and forth from the inner city streets of Northeast Portland and his birthplace/home in Warm Springs, Oregon.
At a mere 28 years old, Mr. Scott has accomplished much in his short career. With a resume that boasts dozens of successful concert promotions across the West Coast, Southwest and Mid-West as well as becoming the head of promotions for Southwestbound Magazine and road manager to GOLD selling rap artist Jay Tee from N2DEEP's label 80 West Music, LLC.
His storied career started with Jaime's love for music and sports and he was torn with which path to travel and he decided to do both! As a student at Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California Jaime excelled as an athlete in both football and wrestling. All the while he was honing his skills as a musician by writing lyrics and becoming a rap MC. Upon graduation, Jaime returned to Portland and Warm Springs and began to throw small shows with local artists on his reservation. The much-needed entertainment was appreciated by the tribal members and youth alike and each show became more successful. In 2003, Jaime combined his love for sports and music and put on the first annual combination 3 on 3 basketball tournament and concert during "Pi-Ume-Sha" treaty days on his reservation in Warm Springs.
From 2003 to present, Jaime has been traveling on the road with his management/consulting firm The Label Group and has provided promotions and/or road management to dozens of artists including N2DEEP, Frost, A-Wax, Yukmouth of The Luniz, Gemini, Fade Dogg, MC Eiht, Chilee Powdah, Smigg Dirtee, I-Rocc, Casual of Hieroglyphics, Napoleon of 2Pac's Outlawz and many more! Jaime has also accomplished recently his life long dream of putting out his first album and he has done so with his debut "JSK - Smoke Signalz" on JSK Music which will be available nationally in January of 2006 through Navarre Distribution.
Since his days as a youth and a former gang member, Jaime has always wanted to help at risk youth through education and diversion but never had the outlet. As a Native American, Jaime also saw the importance of helping his people and his community deal with the same issues that face the inner cities of America. In 2002, Jaime began to make his dream a reality by linking up with his music industry friends and putting together "The Native Network". "The Native Network's" original intentions were to become a loosely knit collective of entertainment professionals that could provide education, gang diversion, and life skills through music and entertainment to at risk youth in Native American communities and eventually indigenous cultures throughout the world.

The Magazine:
The Native Network Magazine (or "NNM") is Native Network Media, Inc.'s publishing arm. Published four times yearly, The Native Network Magazine is the only publication of it's kind that focuses on Native American's in entertainment and art but also non-Native entertainers that have developed or are developing a legitimate and lasting love and understanding for Native American culture and their communities.
Special editorials and interviews will include hip-hop and R&B recording artists (and other genres), traditional musicians, actors, athletes, models and community leaders and activists as well as spotlights on local Native American merchants and businesses including Casinos, Smoke Shops, Arts & Craft, Food Service and more. We also have frequent product reviews on music, electronics, books, clothing and film as well community based reporting on current events and issues that face all Native Americans and America as a whole including teen pregnancy, gang diversions, HIV/AIDS/STD prevention, and more…
NNM has a circulation of 10,000 and is distributed throughout Native American Communities in the United States, and Canada and to select indigenous communities throughout the world specifically Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam (and other Pacific Islanders) and New Zealand. NNM's distribution is not limited to just Native America but also major metropolitan areas that are in close proximity to Native American communities including reservations, colonies, rancheras, casinos, and BIA/Tribal and charter schools.
Our primary method of distribution is via direct mail to community centers, youth organizations, and select retailers. NNM is also mailed directly to subscribers and is also distributed via our "wrapped" promotional vehicles on our cross-country promotional tours and educational/entertainment seminars and performances. NNM can be downloaded via our website as well as through digital delivery direct to e-mail.

The Seminar:
The Native Network Seminar (NNS)
"Unity, Peace, Diversity, and Education through Entertainment"
Includes a half day or full day seminar with full recording studio set-up, DJ set-up, video and film set-up, and industry professionals. Seminar will be broken into three parts:
Part One: (Lecture)
Includes backgrounds on moderators as well as "motivational" workshops that discuss a wide range of social, economical, and political issues that face young people including but not limited to teen pregnancy, gang diversion, HIV/AIDS/STD awareness, career options in entertainment and arts, racial tolerance and harmony, and Native American relations in entertainment.
Part Two: (Workshop)
Includes brief to moderate description and discussion of all fields related to entertainment and arts specifically recording, production, DJ, live performing, music business, and entertainment law. Attendees will be allowed to participate in "hands on" activities including but not limited actual studio sessions, photo, video and film workshops.
Part Three: (Performance/Party/Dance)
This event will be the "icing on the cake" so to speak for attendees as an event to look forward to throughout the day. Live performances from established and up and coming DJ's, rap and R&B artists, and dancers as well as music and refreshments will give the attendees a safe and fun environment to enjoy themselves and interact with industry professionals and performers. Each Performance will also include a short "open mic" segment for attendees to showcase their talent and skills.
Professional equipment we use includes Pro Tools Mbox, G4 Macintosh Power Book, Neumann U87 Microphone, Cannon XL2 24 FPS Professional Grade Mini DV Camera, Avalon Tube Pre-Amp, Technic 1200 Turntables, Pioneer CD-J Compact Disc Turntables, and much more outboard and production gear.
The purpose of this Lecture/Workshop/Performance style Summit is to provide attendees with an inside look into the professional entertainment industries as well as provide an emotional testimonial from artists and professionals from similar backgrounds and experiences. Heavy emphasis will be placed on building of self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth so that attendees will leave with enlightened viewpoints and to open up possibilities for the near future. We believe in "Unity, Diversity, and Education through Entertainment".
* Please inquire about rates for seminar as they will change according to size, duration and booking dates.
