Nate Dogg talks on kurupt sayin he'll never be friends with him again
G-Funkster Nate Dogg recently sat down to talk with german hiphop website hiphop.de and spoke on different stuff, from 213 to Kurupt. As its in german and most of ya'll won't understand it, I thought I'd translate the parts that contain new info for ya'll here.
When asked about his label Dogg Foundation, he said that the co-owner passed away years ago and that the label doesn't exist since. About 213, he said they've completed 30 songs (funny, for 3 months now 30 songs have been completed) and that they're looking for the right label to release it on.
And if I'm not mistaken, Nate hadn't spoken on the Kurupt situation properly since he moved, so here is what he said:
What's your view on Kurupt's move to Death Row Records?
When I heard it the first time, I couldn't believe it. But hey, he's a grown man and I think he made a horrible mistake, but he's a grown man and he must make his own desicions, I can't judge that. He's gonna have to live with his decision.
Did his decision influence or change your friendship, or do you look at it as business..
No, we're not cool with each other anymore and we don't hang out with each other anymore. I mean look, the guy hangs out with somebody who's saying he wants to kill us! You can't have a friendshpip with such a person.
Its like this, Suge Knight is a terrible businessman, and Kurupt was broke. His career didn't go the way he pictures it, and for some reason he thought it would be good to go back there..
What if Kurupt would come back? Would you forgive him/welcome him back?
I couldn't do that. I must be able to trust my friends, I can't have a friend who changes whenever he feels lik it. It's hard to know who's really your homie and who's really down with you. I couldn't trust him anymore, cause what if he's broke again? Who knows who he'd go with then!
Him going back to Death Row shows that he has no respect for his clique. No matter how broke I would be, it's out of question for me to go back to Death Row. We all started 213, we built the Dogg Pound and I'm down with that for life. These are people who brought me in the game, and if I'd be broke, I'd rather live broke than go back to somebody who wants to murder my closest homies - that's just crazy!
Some very clear words from Nate. He didn't say anything concrete about his new album or about 213, just that it's coming.
