Pfft he would have got his ass whooped. Just watch the beating barrera put on him
Prince was a fun fighter, awesome power for his weight class but never fought any true elite guys like Floyd or even Barrera for that matter.
Anyways, it's a stupid comment from Naseem considering Floyd DID TRY to fight him, but Prince didn't want to fight.
After Mayweather’s career best performance against Diego Corrales he even called out the Prince in an interview with Larry Merchant. Merchant curtly replied, “The Prince is not going to fight you.” He wasn’t wrong. Remember how long it took HBO just to get Hamed in the ring with another elite featherweight? It’s a damn shame because if Hamed was a different kind of personality it could have been the Leonard-Hearns of the featherweight division. Alas, his ego and undefeated record came above all other concerns—sounds familiar right?
There's a lot of guys who talk about Floyd didn't fight so and so after the fact. At the lower weight classes, Floyd fought everyone he could. People say he didn't fight Prince or Kostya Tszyu, but it was the other way around - why didn't those guys fight Floyd? Wasn't Floyds fault Prince wouldn't fight him or Kostya Tszyu was always getting injured. It wasn't until post-Oscar, when Floyd took on the "Money" persona, can you criticize him a bit, mainly for waiting 5 years to fight Pacquiao (Pac is also to blame here too) and maybe why he didn't fight Margarito when he was on top. Even Shane Mosley, who most people agree was past his best days, could have fought Floyd years earlier but he passed (probably so his partner Oscar could fight him instead but he still passed on the opportunity). Other than the Pack bullshit, I've consistently said the only gripe I have with his career is when he "retired" for two years when the welterweight division got so damn hot (undefeated Cotto, Margarito whoopin ass, Paul Williams whoopin ass, hell even Kermit Cintron was kicking ass for a bit).
