^ i wasnt aware cormega came out in 96.
i heard him over some qb guest appearances, but i always thought his first solo was realness which came out in 2000.

as for the east coast shit i can add on,
cant go wrong with the m.o.p., everyone from ditc (including fat joe, who has turned to garbage), big pun, almost everything from boot camp click... now that i think of it, almost every album was solid around this era

Notice how hip hop was really tight up until around 1999, and now most shit is garbage. Its a damn shame...

^ yea, i used to be able to pick almost everything up in confidence knowing it'll most likely be tight. including somebody i never seen or heard about.

now the ratio of good rap cd's to bad rap cd's have hit an all time low.

at least it hasn't turned to total shit. i can still buy some cd's in confidence, i can always pick up a mob figgaz, t-nutty, or gorillapits album knowing it most likely will be good.

i dont know how to call it, i would say that music as a whole seemed to have gone to shit. i mean rap being obvious to the siccness, but i dont see any quality bands coming out beyond rap also.

what happened to bad asses like the charles mingus and thelonious monks of jazz? there are no new talents replacing them. theres no new r&b act replacing al green, sam cooke, or otis redding. theres no rock band replacing floyd or the beatles. theres nobody replacing johnny cash.

shit, looks like i went off-track, but yea, music has turned to shit, or maybe im just getting old and cant dig any of the new shit the youngsters are listening to.
