MYSPACE LAYOUT OPINIONS?

hey, i was wondering if i can get some opinions from you guys.

i have this myspace page, for networking as a graphic designer.

right now it's pretty simple, but it's neat/clean... and easy to figure out... and i do like the way it looks now.

but i also designed a custom layout, which i also like... in different ways.

and i don't know if i should keep the layout how it is, or replace it with the custom layout i designed (assuming i can get the div overlay code to work right)...

anyway...

i can't decide which to use; i mean sometimes simple is better... but at the same time... if the whole point of my page is for design networking... it should be creative, right?

well i just wanted to get some outside perspective so...

Honestly it doesn't look too great. The grunge brushes and film strip has been done many times. I've seen your work, you're capable of waaaaaayyyy more. Throw some of your flash work into it.

maybe you're right.

i didn't even think about putting flash on my myspace page.

that's a good idea.

I agree with liquid for the most part.

and also, I dont know what your target customer base is, but you should always think about keeping that professional appearance. blaring music with profanity, and dark colors usually are what you shouldnt do on a site where you are trying to make money. .... Maybe you could make a seperate page for your business.


Im not telling you to change, but its just something to keep in mind.

i decided not to use the custom layout i made. i think the one i currently have represents me better.

i'll work on a revised custom one eventually.

oh.. you said i should make a different page for business? that is my different page. i just made it a couple weeks ago because i didn't want to use my personal page for networking.
