1) "No Vaseline" Ice Cube
This album gets started off right with this classic from Ice Cube. He comes hard dissing N.W.A. on this one. I don't really need to review this song because you know it's tight as fuck! Just one of the best songs ever released by Ice Cube. This song is tight as fuck, I'm feeling it to the fullest, classic material.
2) "Beef" Tech N9ne ft. Big Krizz Kaliko
One of the new songs on the album. Tech N9ne comes tight as fuck on this one to a clean beat. Big Krizz Kaliko comes cool on his verse too, but Tech rips this one apart. The production is tight as fuck and it's one of those get you juiced beats. I'm loving this song. I'm keeping this one on replay. Tight as fuck, bump it loud!
3) "You Don't Really Want It" KRS-ONE
KRS-ONE is one of the best rappers of all time and this song just adds to his best status. He disses Nelly on this one and does a little reppin for himself. One of three songs KRS-ONE is on, probably the second best one, but it's a tight song. I'm not a big fan of the hook though. Still a solid song, I'm digging it.
4) "Westside Connection" Westside Connection
Who-wee, three of the best from Southern California. WC, Mack 10 and Ice Cube rip apart the mic on this song. The three trade off verses to a tight ass beat. Hard gangsta lyrics on the flows and three hard styles to make this a tight ass song. Just a grab the mic and flow song. Classic material from the Westside Connection.
5) "Murder by #'s" Skatterman & Snug Brim ft. Ricky Skarfo
Skatterman is another rapper from Strange Music that is going to be making some noise with his music. This song has a good solid beat to it as Skatterman raps clean on the mic. Snug Brim and Ricky Skarfo come cool too, but I'm feeling Skatterman the most. The hook is pretty good too. A solid song overall.
6) "Drama" Prodigy ft. Twin
Probably my least favorite song on the album and that's saying a lot. The song has a good beat with some nice guitar work in the background as Prodigy and Twin come cool on the mic. I just can't into it as much as the other songs on the album. I think it's the beat that keeps me away from this song. A decent song on this album, but still a solid song overall.
7) "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" Eazy-E ft. B.G. Knockout
One of my favorite Eazy-E songs of all time. The classic where he disses the shit out of Dr. Dre talking about his street credability. B.G. Knockout comes tight on his verse too, but this is the Eazy-E show as he comes tight as hell on the mic. I'm feeling this song to the fullest. Just some hard beef being spit by Eazy. Tight song overall.
8) "Caution" Black Child
A nice laid back beat to this song. Black Child talks about putting it down on the street. He has a good style on the mic as he comes with some good lyrics putting it down. Just some street talk to a good beat, not my favorite song, but it's hard. I'm feeling it overall.
9) "When the Rain Drops" Kutt Calhoun ft. Snug Brim
Another Strange Music artist in Kutt Calhoun delivers a tight song. The beat is tight with a hard bass line and good background instruments. Kutt comes hard on the mic with a hard style. Snug Brim comes cool too, but I'm feeling Kutt more. This is another solid song from the Strange Music crew. I'm feeling it to the fullest.
10) "That's It" KRS-ONE ft. Mad Lion
Oh yeah, I'm loving the beat to this song, it has that perfect pace to it with a hard bass line to it. KRS-ONE comes hard as fuck on the mic talking about how he's a MC and that's it. Mad Lion is has a reggea style to his flow, he comes cool on his verse and on the hook, but I'm feeling KRS-ONE a lot more. A tight ass song overall though.
11) "Postman" Poverty
Poverty comes tight on fuck on this song. The beat has a good pace to it and gets your head moving as Poverty brings the heat on the mic. He talks about being the postman and moving the block. A hard gangsta type of song right here. I'm feeling this song a lot, everything fits perfectly.
12) "Now I See" MC Shan
MC Shan comes alright on this song, but it stands out as one of the weaker songs on this album filled with tight cuts. The beat isn't all that great and I think that's what takes away from this song. Really it just could have been better, I'm not feeling it much at all.
13) "Snake Ya" Tech N9ne ft. Big Krizz Kaliko
Oh hell yeah another tight ass cut from Tech N9ne. I think I like this one more than the first Tech song on here, but they are two different type of songs. Once again Big Krizz Kaliko comes hard on his verse, but I'm into Tech N9ne more. The hook is the best part of this one and the tight ass beat doesn't hurt either. This song is tight as fuck, I'm feeling it to the fullest.
14) "Let's Go (It's a Movement)" Warren G. ft. KRS-ONE, Lil' AI
A pretty good beat to get things started as Warren G, KRS-ONE and Lil' AI bring the heat on the mic. KRS-ONE has the best verse to start the song with. Warrent G and Lil' AI come cool too, but I'm feeling KRS more. A tight song overall though, I'm feeling it.
15) "Witness Protection" Jayo Felony
Jayo talks about those in the witness protection program and how he's coming to get their snitch asses. Damn he comes hard on the mic talking about getting those snitches. The beat isn't all that great, but the lyrics more than make up for it. Jayo comes hard as hell on this one. I'm feeling him to the fullest.
16) "Day I Die" Tru-Life
One of those hard ass beats that get your head going. Tru-Life can't help but come hard as fuck to a beat like this. He just talks about representing for the thugs til the day he dies. A tight ass beat to make this a tight ass song from Tru-Life, I'm feeling it to the fullest.
17) "Fuck tha Police" N.W.A.
Do I even have to say a word? One of the most influencial, disruptive and just plain tight as fuck songs of all times. If you haven't ever heard this song then you're either deaf or you've been on Mars for the last 20 years. A perfect finish to this Beef album.
Overall this was a perfect collection of old classic beef tracks mixed with a gang of new songs that are sure to blow some speakers. With rappers like N.W.A., Ice Cube, KRS-ONE, Jayo Felony, Tech N9ne and Westside Connection you can't go wrong. Then you throw in some of the new talent from Strange Music and you've got yourself a tight ass album. Not classic because some of the songs are recyled, but definately a tight album to compliment the movie. Get this shit right now.
Overall Rating = 5/5
