Savage Life - Street Lyrics, Politics, and Bubblin

1) "Intro"
The first track is just the intro to the album. A decent beat by Gooch plays in the background.

2) "Sav Life"
E.G. lays down a cool beat to get the song started off with, it has some good background sounds to it and a good bass line. Daddy Rich starts it off on the mic with the first verse and he spits a good one. Hooligan is next, I think he has a better style on the mic than Daddy Rich, but both sound good together. A good song to start the album with, it has a good fast paced sound to it, I like it.

3) "Tha Ride"
A slower beat this time by E.G., but it still sounds good and has a good feel to it. They talk about hitting the town in their rides. Some nice background vocals on the hook done by Angie. Daddy Rich and Hooligan come tight on this laid back song, talking about crusing the block, hitting up some BBQ's and just chillin. A cool song overall, just a sit back and chill type of song.

4) "Pop Yo Colla" ft. Spice 1, Techniec
A tight beat by E.G. for this song, I like the background instruments and the bass line. The flows are pretty good, I don't like the first verse all that much, but the rest of the verses are good. Renee does the hook with her sweet female background vocals. I like the verses by Spice 1 and Techniec a lot and by Hooligan to finish the song with. More solid mic work and a tight beat to go along with it. A solid song overall.

5) "Keep it Gangsta" ft. MC Eiht
This is one of my favorite beats on the whole album. The tracklisting on the insert has this and the next song mixed up. Daddy Rich and MC Eiht come hard on the mic on this one. There is no Hooligan at all, but the these two hold it down on the mic. The beat by Phil Hennon is tight as hell though. A tight ass song overall, I'm feeling it to the fullest.

6) "Club Thuggin"
E.G. lays down a tight ass beat that sounds a bit like a club beat. Daddy Rich and Hooligan bring the heat again on this song. They just talk about hitting the club and keeping it thuggin. A tight song, I'm feeling it overall.

7) "Poppin Crackin & Stackin"
Another club type song right here produced by E.G. again. Once again Daddy Rich and Hooligan come hard on the mic with some good flows talking about hitting the clubs again. The only thing is that they should have put this song later on on the album so that two club songs weren't back to back. Besides that though, it's tight, I'm feeling it.

8) "Hooli Heffna" (skit)
This is just a skit. Nothing much going on here but talking.

9) "Nation Wide Pimpin" ft. San Quinn
Another solid beat done by E.G. to get this song started off right. They talk about hitting up that pimp game nation wide. Daddy Rich has the first verse and spits a good one. San Quinn is next, not his best work, but a decent verse, Hooligan finishes it off nicely with a good verse. A solid song overall, good production, solid mic work, a good song overall.

10) "Street Lyrics, Politics, and Bubblin"
Another solid beat done by E.G., not the best beat he's done on this album, but it has a good sound to it. I don't like the hook at all and I'm not really feeling Hooligan's verse that much at the beginning when he tries to sing. Not the best song from the two, I'm not really feeling this one all that much.

11) "We Won't Stop"
A decent beat done by Shame, not the best beat on the album, but it has a nice sound to it. I don't really like the hook all that much because it needed to have the same hard lyrics that are present on the verses. Daddy Richy and Hooligan come tight on the mic on this one. The flows are the main reason why I like this song that much. They put it down for Hayward and The West Coast. A tight song overall, I like the lyrics a lot, it needed a better hook though.

12) "On My Own" ft. Shame
One of those slower sentimental type songs right here. The beat by E.G. is pretty good and fits the mood of the track well. Daddy Rich and Hooligan talk about all those friends they lost, those in prison and just keeping their head up in life. Shame does the vocals on the chorus. A pretty good song overall, I like Daddy Rich more than Hooligan on this song though, I like how he flowed slower to fit with the beat better.

13) "Summertime Anthem"
This is another song like track three. Kia does the background vocals and the hook nicely with her sweet sounding voice. Daddy Rich and Hooligan come with more mellowed out lyrics, talking about just kicking back and chillin in the hood. A good laid back type of song, I'm feeling it.

14) "Millinium Boogie" ft. B-Legit, Harm
DJ X-Large does the production for this song and lays down a clean sounding beat. Hooligan starts this one off with a solid verse. Harm does the chorus with his cool vocals. B-Legit has the second verse and spits a good one talking about clubs and girls. Daddy Rich has the next verse and spits a good one too. This is one of my favorite songs on the album. I like the verses by Daddy Rich and B-Legit the most. A tight song overall, I'm feeling it to the fullest.

15) "Break tha Gates" ft. Daz, Nit Witz
Gooch lays down a tight ass gangsta beat for this song that has a tight sound to it. Daddy Rich and Hooligan have the first two verses, both come tight, I like how Hooligan flows on this song, more than when he tries to do too much singing. Londuke and P Dub of the Nit Witz come with the next two verses and spit a good verse each. Daz finishes off the song with a good verse. The Nit Witz really came tight on this song, I'm feeling this song to the fullest, a tight song overall.

16) "Haterism"
A tight ass beat done by Silver to finish the album off with. Daddy Rich and Hooligan give the album a good send off with more good lyrics spit on the mic. They talk about those haters on this one. I think it needed a better chorus though, I didn't like the female voice on the background vocals. Still though it's a good song to finish the album with.

Overall this was a pretty solid release from Daddy Rich and Hooligan. There was a pretty good core of beats on the album, nothing that really, really stood out to me, but almost every song had a good beat for it. The features were tight, as Savage Life got a bunch of good rappers to make a guest spot. Daddy Rich and Hooligan themselves came tight on the mic. I was feeling Daddy Rich and little more than Hooligan on the mic for the whole album, but both had their times to shine on the mic. They topics of the songs were good too. This was really a good release from Savage Life. I look forward to hearing more from them. A solid release overall.

Overall Rating = 4/5
