Years ago I went to go pick up dinner at Battaglia's Deli off of Putnam in Antioch while i was waitin in line i noticed the tattoos on the arms of the dude in front of me "YOC LIFE" down both his arms, right away, thats Woodie, on my way out i said whats up, said how i appreciated the music, chatted for maybe 90 seconds and was on my way. I think the fact that he didnt just brush me off and took the time to talk with show how much the felt for his fans. Fast forward on my way home one day i spot the skylark accross the street from my house, from then on for a while i saw it there 3-4 times a week. Thats something else Woodie would go out there and bend the block, he was out there doin his shit, not curled up in a studio in LA like some other antioch rapper, Id see him some mornings on my way out and hed always say whats up. Later on one of my college classes got me to do a report on gun control, and i needed an interview for it so i hit emailed woodie, and the next day i was on the phone with him, askin questions to get his point of view. That always mean alot to me. He was a cool dude, a guy with some class, i hope hes in a better place than he was, but its deffinately a hard hit here at home, Ill always miss wood. RIP.
