first off, the banner at the top is fucking annoying....its coo for the opening page, but when I clicked a link the music came on again and it did the whole little thing again......the plans are pretty good, but you don't give that much bandwidth....and the proffessional only allows 1 domain name? should be more. and it mentions nothing about domain registration, so I take it that registration isn't included. at least there's no contracts and support on every plan. Congrats on your business...

yeah , I think thats annoying too....I am working on a static banner for the rest of the pages as we speak. I have to fix that about the number of domains. The domain registration info is on the front page. I'll offer more bandwidth when I aquire a few customers and can re-up. Thanks for stopping by.

You get a "e" for effort but to be a good host you need to invest a good 2/3 into support. Breezing through your site there is only a email contact. No live IM, no 24/hr phone support. Anyone brave enough to try hosting gets what they pay for. Nice template front end for your reseller plan.

Sorry to sound like I'm putting your business down but I've been involved in web design and hosting for 8 years. Since reseller hosting came out hosts have been a dime a dozen with only a couple handfulls of quality hosts around. I've offered hosting to my design clients only. I could've set up a side business for web hosting but I don't have the time, money or desire to set up the support staff. With hosting support is what separates good hosts from the fly-by-night crappy bottom feeders.

For those looking for a host stop by WebHostingTalk forums to check out reviews and real world experiences with any host you're looking at.

Thanks for your input. I understand everything you are saying. Like the saying goes "You have to crawl before you walk!" I am one person with a small budget and a family. Yes, the the front end is a modified template...for now. And everything from Nikes to Cadillacs to Campbells soup is being resold, so I don't see anything wrong with that. At the end of the day the customer will get what is advertised. Space , Bandwidth, Uptime and personal support from me. Any problem anyone may have, best believe I have already had myself and was able to solve. If a customer has a problem, they are urged to log into the client area and open a support ticket, which is routed to my cell phone so that I can respond promptly in the event of an emergency or even a non-emergency. I am in front of a computer at least 16 hours a a day. So getting ahold of me is no problem. As for as webhostingtalk goes....I have been a member there for quite a while now. Got the majority of my contacts and info from there. As far as being a fly by night op! Everything is legit. Ficticious business name, and Business License for San Diego County. I'm in it for the long haul. My only "minor" concern is containing that Flash intro to the main page only...because it is annoying.

@Ricky530Furl....what browser are you using? I also noticed that problem with a screen resolution below 1024x768 In IE. I used a layer tag for that form. that's why it's doing that. need to fix it. thanks.

I use Firefox and got the same problem on the client log-in section.

It seems not to be a browser issue. Only a resolution issue. I designed everything in 1024x728. Only the smallest resolutions below that experience this, so I am not going to worry about it. I'll put a resolution disclaimer on the front page. Something like : " Site best viewed at 1024x768 screen resolution"

@ Filthy_Rich ... whenever you ready.

Like I said, I'm not trying to knock ya hustle, I have just seen too many web hosts started the same way and then they're gone a year later. I hope you have planned for growth properly. The web hosting business is cut-throat and there are 1001 hotsting companies at any given time. Support is what sets them apart. I never said there was anything wrong with reselling its that there is a high percentage of resellers that over sell their plans and it ends up causing problems for the clients. I currently run my own vps linux box and even though I'm only hosting my domains and a few of my friends and family its a lot of work.

With regards to your flash header, the only way to keep it from running on pages other than the front page is to remove it from those pages or edit the FLA that came with the template so that that movieclip isn't loaded on those other pages. Since your site uses a hybrid flash/HTML design any flash will be loaded again each time a new page is opened. The only other way to control the flash header would be to design the site as full flash. How you go about it will be determined by your knowledge of flash. It is possible to control flash movies across different HTML pages but it takes advanced actionscript/flash knowledge and some javascript on the HTML side plus its a pain in the ass to get working properly. And since your main navigation is contained in the same flash movie you'll have to probably separate the header movieclip from the navigation in order to have it only play on the front page.

Good luck.

Good lookin out. No foul. All other pages after that intro will be 100% html. Think I'll just remove that annoying .wav sound first out the .FLA . That seems to be the most annoying. I chose a proper spot to host at with plenty of room to grow. Not running my own boxes yet, so that cuts out ALOT of the maintenance and security issues, but I keep my ear to WHT to stay up on what's what ya know. I look forward to reading the rest of your posts in the Gathering of Minds forum. Stay up.

You got some site designs I can check out?

my only complaint is the price. Why not make it a free file host instead of free web hosting. You know, like yousendit and rapidshare? While you're at it, make the file size, bandwidth, and file life all unlimited and if you make any profits, I'll take a 90% cut since it was my idea. I expect these demands to be met or else!!!!!!!!!!

There's a couple on my portfolio site. But I really haven't had the time to do a proper "full" site yet.

For what you're doing going HTML is probably best. You can get Flash to give you a similar experience but it takes more work especially when you take SEO into account. And with a web hosting site you will always want high search rankings.

There is a way to put key search terms within the flash movie for search engines to pick up. I think with the latest versions of Flash Player 7-8-9 this happens automatically. I havent done any search engine optimization at all. Word of mouth so far.
