My Car Audio System STOLEN!!!

I got in an accident where a 2003 chevy malbu hit me from behind in bumper to bumper traffic driving through west covina on I10. My car was at a dead stop for about 20seconds before this bitch hit me and pushed me into and under a chevy S10 pickup truck royaly fuckin up the front end of my car(see pic at bottom). About a week later I had to make a trip up to santa cruz,ca to visit my family and took my car to the perferred body shop my insurance told me I had to go too. While I am up north my two amps and subs with grill covers come up missing. The car sat in there back lot which looks alot like a junk yard would with the fench with barb wire around it, In the process of my car waiting to be seen. The Shop is not doing shit cause they said its beyond there control since it didnt happen inside the shop. The contract my wife signed said we have sole liability for any idems left in car that are taken beyond there control. I told my wife, I had asked her before they took it if i should take out my system and she told me no. Normally I ignore her and do it anyway. Go figure the one time I acutlly listen to my wife it doesnt pay off. Im going to fight it with the better business bueru though. This is a perrfered body shop. Meaning my insurance said I had to go here.

If you signed something saying that the Tow Yard is NOT liable, you can call the BBB all you want, but nothing will happen.

ALSO...It is against the law for an insurance company to make you go to 'their' shop...you as a consumer have a right to get your car fixed wherever you want.

yup, the tow yard left my window down during a storm and it fucked the carpet up.... but i got it impounded for a driving on a suspended so i cant complain, i took my nike jacket out and some movies... NEVER leave anything in ur ride

While I am glad you don't have your audiobahn's...I wouldn't want it to happen this way.

That's fucked up...getting your shit stolen is never nice. I had my stuff stolen before. I learned then never to leave my stuff in my car.

No I didnt have insurance. Nor did I think too write down the serial numbers for all my shit. I still got the deck and my door speakers. Dont do me much good without the stuff to power it.

when the fuckin cops towed my shit they told me i hadda take everything out cuz they werent responsible so i hadda take my head unit, amp n everythin but the box n walk all the way home from the army st projects at like 2 AM... shit was heavy as fuck.

when i got in an accident n got a concussion they towed my shit (which was gay cuz it cost me $700 bucks cuz i didnt know where they towed it cuz i didnt remember anything) and my leather niners jacket, all my beat n everything was intact when i got to the lot but the cop took my pellet gun! lol.

You should have gone through the other person's insurance company (the one that hit you), instead of your own.

Since you do have insurance and actual coverage on your vehicle (not just liability since you're insurance company is hadling it) there should be theft protection on there.

File another claim with your insurance company. The BBB won't so anything, my corp. is a member and they don't do anything more than send me a plaque and newsletters. If your insurance company for whatever reason won't cover your system and you have full coverage, then take them to small claims. Just serve them a notice. Once they get a notice, they usually just pay up.

thats exacly what I think happend. Cause there gates were not cut so it had to be on the inside but my trunk lock is jammed with something in it and i dont know what. They jammed it and opened it then closed it while jammed. Why would they do all this if they had a key, unless they wanted to make it seem like it was someone else. That is what I would do. Also I think they saw the 4 gauge wire the way the hood is jammed up and knew something big was in the car. I did file another claim seperate for the system. They told me after 3 days that its not covered because I didnt provide them with receipts for everything before my shit got stolen.

What insurance do you have?

My insurance (state farm) covers everything...as long as you have full coverage, and your receipts.

I tried all that. I aint just sat back and did nothing. I have AIG insurance. I did have state farm but they got too expensive for me. State farm who I still talk too my broker from there. She told me she wouldnt have covered it since i didnt insure the system before it was stolen. I dont have all my recepts but i could have got some made. My homie works at an audio shop in modesto off mcchenry and would have done it for free.
