i wrote this for my reverbnation page... no dum ass cliches' or exagerations

Mr. G from Visalia, Ca has been relevant to the “Homeboy” (Northern Chicano) rap since 2002. In 2001 he recorded a 4 song demo that lead to his first deal with Recognize Ent. After close to a year of being on the label he opted out and would later spend a brief chapter as a recording artist on Studio 11550 Recordz, neither label would produce a solo project from Mr. G but many features were recorded and released during that era. While remaining on good terms with both labels, Mr. G did not seek another label situation but intended on creating his own. Joining up with friend and Visalia native Big Boy, the 2 were going to release an album as a duo titled the Murder Men, with the project launching a joint venture label. But as life has a way of not following plans, shortly after contractual agreements were set and recordings had begun, Big Boy got incarcerated. The material recorded for The Murder Men was never released and at the end of 2004 Mr. G felt it best to leave the state for a while. In 2006 after founding Northern Lit Studioz in Alaska, a preview disc titled the Freeview Mixtape was distributed to introduce his 2 new artists and generate momentum for a release that year. Once again a release never followed. Upon his indefinite return home in the summer of 2008, Mr. G began distributing a full length mix tape titled Northern Lit Sessionz, Initially placed on Music forums as a free download. In 2009 a small amount was pressed and quickly sold out at live performances. In 2008 Mr. G also began production on his debut album: Back in the Hood. 2 years later and the long awaited debut is just weeks away from being available for digital purchase online. Also, an arrangement for a group album with San Jose artist Big Rhino was set to begin this year and ultimately lead to Mr. G signing with Active Ent. A label co-founded by Big Rhino and Big Oso Loc. Along with the collaboration album titled The Usual Suspects, a Northern Lit Sessionz Vol: 2 is also in the works.

ECOSE' COMPLETE BIO
Current mood: calm
Category: Music

Ecose was born in San Jose,Ca in 1981 to Mexican-American parents living in the working class neighbor hoods of East San Jose California. His love for music was heavily influenced by the music played by his parents which were: Tower of Power,WAR,Marvin Gaye,Al Green, The Isley Brothers,Earth Wind & Fire.Funk and soul is the music that shaped his musical taste.Drums and Bass,Horns and Guitars.

Then came 1985 King of Rock dropped by RUN-DMC. "You Talk Too Much" became his anthem. That record was their 2nd but it was the first time E had heard the group and was instantly hooked. He at the most quite times would repeat the lyrics: "You talk too much You never shut up/ I said you talk too much Homeboy you never shut up". It got him in trouble by his mother. "He was not even 5 years old yet, says Mama Cose." I could not allow him at that age to tell everyone: u talk too much u never shut up"!

From then on rap was flowing through his veins . One year later in 1987 his father seeing that his son really diggin RUN-DMC bought him the LP: RAISING HELL. Collaboration with Aerosmith ushered RUN-DMC in to commercial stardom from which they still enjoy to this day as true HIP-HOP pioneers.

The rap and rock influence let him know at a young age there are no boundaries when it comes to music and it really opened a world to every genre in music "If it sounds good im wit it"! Ecose does not discriminate on music for it is a language that has no race has no borders its the voice of your soul.

The Bay Area MOBB Music in the 90's was a golden age to him E-40,2pac, 4-Tay. Too $hort, etc... At the same time the East Coast (from which he earned his name) had sum of the hardest lyrics he had ever come across and could not deny the Artistry of those thousands of miles away. Wu-Tang, Gangstarr, Nas, Naughty by Nature became artists that influenced E in his early days of rapping.

HOW IT ALL STARTED
Ecose wasn't big on home work when he was 9. He had a book report due Monday morning in 1989 so of course Sunday night he began his book report it took him well in to the evening." To be honest it took me from 4-8 pm to write four paragraphs." For the first time he was tired from just doing school work all day. "I needed a way to unwind ," says Ecose. "So I wrote a 4 bar rap b4 I went to bed. My dad asked what i was doing he said ," I thought you were done?" I said, "yea im writing a rap". he said "OK, bed in 10 minutes." That was that, he wrote a rap that he learned as soon as he wrote it. Kept it to himself in fear what others would think. At the time E thought no one would wanna here a mexican kid rap. So he stayed a fan and would occasionally write raps and discard them for gangsta rap was what was what people (including himself) were listening to. Since Ecose was no gangster he felt once again why would anyone care about what he had to say?

Enter 1996
Ecose found a knack for spiting little freestyles with his friends in the neighborhood. Nothing special but it wasn't untill after a knee injury in Baseball that took him out of sports for months. It was then Ecose had more time to hang on the block and do things that usually ruin athletes who should be rehabbing. "Man after I hurt my knee painkillers wouldn't work, but a lil herb and drank sure cured that"! He stopped playing Baseball for the first time in 10 years. He found a new recreation which was he feels saved him mentally. Ecose reflects on life after sports," Baseball,Basketball,Football kept me outta trouble and occupied my life since a child. I went crazy I felt like I could have died.I couldn't run I couldn't jump the same I felt like and 80 year old man." Shortly after a few childish mistakes made with "friends" made him realize life was short and we need to value life."One day we are here one day gone. There is no coming back". Dealing with adult situations like so many other people his age got him determined to get back on track it was the music that soothed him, saved him. "I expressed my self through my raps I started to use it as therapy. I listened to PAC , he told me 'hold on be strong, for every dark knight there is a bright day'. "I never stopped listening to those words", We can find Heaven on this Earth if we truly seek it".

Enter 1998
Ecose and Konquest have a chance meeting .They met through a mutual "friend". The meeting was short but the in that time he and Quest formed a mutual respect through rap music. Soon he began coming over with the mutual friend and would play instrumentals spit raps drink beer hit green. The chemistry began to form as Konques the DJ and Ecose the MC began putting on sessions instead of bullshitting playing video games. It became a daily activity and soon they began recording and capturing the freestyle sessions and DJing acrobatics.

People would come and go and by late 1999 Ecose brought Tribal to meet Quest. "Man Tribal and me would spend hours battling and rapping walking down Mclaughlin just doing things teenagers do: chase skirt and party and we'd end nights rapping about what went down. Tribal had it rough but he is a good dude. Like the saying goes 'you can take the boy out the hood'....

"I told Quest that I have a friend that can spit and he lives and breathes this rap sit". Ecose not the kind of guy to co-sign just anyone got together with Tribal and Quest and formed a group: V.O.G.(Visions of Game). The crew was complete not knowing it was missing a member this whole time. Once the 3 came together "it was like a the missing piece to the puzzle" claims E.

After several years of turning from young knuckleheads to men they have fond themselves on different parts of the map. But communicate to this day brainstorming and with Quest sending everyone in the crew beats as he makes them.

In late 2006 Ecose found himself in Tucson,AZ where he currently resides raises a family and continues to make music. He has vowed to continue to stay true to himself in his lyrics and in life. Ecose explains, "I'll never lie about anything I've done, seen or how I feel. It takes too much energy. Let keep it real with ourselves and move forward. The truth hurts but not as much a when a lie comes to light".

good shit. it is pretty long and could be edited down a bit... i personally enjoy reading so i would not say its too long for me but for others i could see that being the case.
when i wrote mine i had a 2000 character limit (including spaces and punctuation) so i wasnt able to go as in depth with my personal backround.
i do feel like your has done its job right, by giving a more personal connection to you with those who follow your music and spark interest to check out your stuff if they have never heard it....
