For $40, that's not bad.

I'd like to get one as a spare mic. Pretty bright sound to it. It can work good when mic'ing guitars to pick up brightness if wanted.

It's a decent vocal mic. A decent pre-amp should make the sound slightly better but you can't really expect miracles.
