Anybody feel like listing some must-read books? They can be about practically anything from scientific genres to history, sex, religion, travel guides, cookbooks or health and wellness.....I took on the hobby of reading books a few years ago and I'm looking for some new ones. Preferably Non-Fiction; I'm very interested in World History, Creationism/Evolution, Modern Science, Ancient Civilizations, and other Cultures/Countries, but anything will do. If you feel, list a short desciption about the book and why you feel it was a must-read. I'll start off...

Al Gore - An Inconvenient Truth -I found this one particularly interesting because it was something I was unfamiliar with and it is such a controversial subject. When you think about it, becoming green is big business now. Think about how much money these big corporations will be making in the future with their hybrid/super fuel efficient vehicles, building green houses with efficient utilities and solar powered panels and insulation, recycling programs, carbon taxes on greenhouse gasses......Take it how you want whether you are a beliver or not, or if you think Al Gore is a hypocrite, or if you are a "Republican", keep an open mind, read the book, and then form your own opinion.

Glenn Beck - An Inconvenient Book (Real Solutions To The World's Biggest Problems) -I have not personally read this book, but the book above reminded me of the title to this book. My Girlfriend's Step-Dad absolutely raves about this one. I watch a little of his television show every now and then, and sometimes I find him a little bit much to handle. I agree with him, and sometimes I don't agree with him. I tuned in once and by stroke of luck he was interviewing Denis Leary who is one of my favorite stars ever; his show Rescue Me is astonishing but that's a whole nother topic. Anyways, I guess that interview kind of interested me in his television show. I guess you either love or hate Glenn Beck, either way, check the book out and form an opinion. I know I will be.

Jamie Oliver - Jamie At Home -I actually bought this for my Dad on Father's Day but I ended up owning it. LOL. I enjoyed his TV cooking show so much, and the style that he prepares his meals. He grows everything on his farm outside of London organically. He was bascially my inspiration for getting into eating well and preparing healthy foods all the time. It's actually more than a cook book. Not only does he have recipes and hundreds of high-quality photos but he tells you how to grow your own vegetables in your own backyard. He divides the book into seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer) which I thought was a great idea. Please do check it out.

Jesse Ventura - Don't Start The Revolution Without Me!.

I'm a huge fan of Jesse but i'm also an independant and extremely liberal. If he ran for president I would strongly consider voting him over Obama. I don't know that i could given the stakes in this election though

Obsession by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker
Mind Hunter: Into the Mind of a Serial Killer by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker

Any of these guys books are great to read. They go behind killers and serial offenders and look at the psychological effects in their lives that caused them to become monsters. It's very interesting stuff.

Tom Stoppard - Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

Tons of Shakespeare and Greek plays, but especially King Lear by Shakespeare and Medea by Euripides. The Orestia by Aeschylus is also essential.
