Today I woke up with an intense feeling, aside from the usual morning wood.

I wanted to hear some new music. Something that would blow me away and make me CRAZYGONUTS.

So, I went up to my record store where I am employed at and searched through the new CDs and old CDs to try to find this mind altering substance.

After 3 hours of life wasted, aside from the usual morning wood and bowl of smoke, I came to one conclusion...

There is no good, heart pumping, energy generating, anger encouraging, im pissed off, shut the fuck up bitch music out now.

we need that.

I was browsing through the newspaper the other day and i noticed that Busta Rhymes turned 31. While 31 is still young, i began to wonder about the future of hip hop. Hip hop has, and always will be, the music of the young, but what happens when the young become old? Much of the hip hop music is underground. Many of the underground artists are young, but the thing is, they are underground. mainstream doesn't look at them. Mainstream looks at people like Dr Dre, Jay-z, snoop, wu tang and others. These rappers are getting old. So who speaks for our generation now? Ja Rule, 50 cent, lil romeo? please, might as well forget about hip hop if they are our future. Who is going to step up and take the place of the afore mentioned mainstream legends? A lot of people look to the underground, and there is a lot of talent there, but there is a reason they are underground. and that reason is because mainstream doesn't want to hear what they are saying. So how can we continue the music of the young? how can we assure it's survival? not more than 5 years ago, hip hop dominated the charts. you look today, with the exception of 50 cent and his labels clever marketing, and what dominates? you got avril and the rest of the pop/punk brigade, you have country (god help us all) is this what is becoming to the music of the young? talentless magazine cover stars? I hope not. while many of our legends in hip hop have died, physically and lyrically, i look for the new hero in hip hop. the saviour, if you will. the bases are juiced, we just need to bring the men home. Who is willing to step to the plate?

I'm not sure... I mean, there is nothin' harder than Edgecrusher, and Descent is probably one of my favorite songs ever made, but Digimortal kinda rips. It's a lot softer, sorta. Digimortal (the song) is f'n sick...

They're pretty equal to me, but I think for one reason or another I like Digi better.

Nah... I didn't. I heard from some friends of mine who saw them that they were the shittiest live band they've ever seen, and that's sayin' a lot considering we go to local punk/hardcore shows out here all the time. She said the guy couldn't hit those notes on the soft parts because his voice was just blown.

I expected as much, but was still dissapointed to hear it.

Tech should get with Dino Cazares and tell Slipknot to go fuck Jonathan Davis. You seen the back of the Digimortal booklet lately? Looks familure.

Yeah i saw them with Spineshank. You pretty much got it right on the head. The dudes voice was shot. Still a decent show from them but Spineshank kicked their ass that night. But i did get one of Dino's picks.

Peace

Spineshank is some hard shit... Too hard for me. Their level of hardness is just not even on my radar.

Slacker, ya wanna find some "heart pumping, energy generating, anger encouraging, im pissed off, shut the fuck up bitch music"?

Uh, Vision of Disorder, Hatebreed, Skinlab, Velvet Acid Christ, Mushroomhead... I don't know what you like and I'm sure the scene is different out there, but on Long Island the hardcore scene is all that's goin' on.

I find myself rebuying music i lost or broke, Its just their is really nothing i like that out. Like whole CD their are some good songs but i wouldent buy the whole fucking CD. About lets say 8 years ago their was everything in hip-hop for party, gansta, make you think, now its what we have now and its sad. I want music that saying something, telling a story, making you think, shit make you feel something. Music now is just something you do to pass the time away, Again music that makes you feel, and i just cant find that today in rap. and it makes me sad.

Well the way I got into rap, was basically by the rock music scene being the biggest load of crap ever. There is NOTHING coming out that has a guitar in it that I'm interested in AT ALL. Back when Creed came out with "My own Prison" or whatever the name of that cd was, I thought we were on the right track....

Boy did they flip that one on me.

it's all about
'replica'

'I AM HATE, I AM RAPE'
" ta-ka ta-ka ta-ka ta-tam, taka ta-tam, "
that riff is killer

----------------
seriously tho , I think bling bling mtv rap is gonna die .
i'll give it a year or two

just like that glam metal bullshit died in the late80's/beginning of the 90s. there's gonna be something new and cool. people just have to have an open mind. because shit, new shit's never gonna sound like what we all listened to 5 years ago, it's gonna be different.

Replica... I sure love that album, but it's not what Slacker is talkin' about.

"I've got no more god damn regrets,
I've got no more god damn respect"

Duhhh duh duh duh duh duh.... LoL... Text guitar.

I wish that glam metal never died... That shit is the only rock I'd compare to Tech. In fact, I like Tech because he's "glam metal" rap. Sex, Drugs, Bitches, and rock n' roll.

i hate that shit,
that's why i love metallica, megadeth, and slayer

on another note, i do like skidrow and gunsnroses, but they weren't the same as your motley's and wingers, and other nsyncs and backstreet boys with guitars
