Can anyone provide some info on music publishing? Such as what i need to know about music publishing as a indie label and what i need to know about music publishing as a artist? Any links or info would be helpfull

a music publisher takes your copyrighted songs and pitched them to other publishers or companies that want to use your songs in records, films and sheet music. He collects a fee from them and the both of you split the publishing profits 50/50. It free up your time to create more songs without the task of being a publisher and artist. you can self publish yourself first,by affiliating your company with ASCAP or BMI

Good looking maddog. I will just refer my artists to bmi or ascap and i will do the same for myself. I just read a article on it on wendy days web site so i understand it alot better now.
