Folks,

I have a 14 channel Mackie 1402 VLZ pro, running into M-audio Delta 1010. I have always recorded one channel at a time for making music. My friend wants me to record him, but I need to record 3 or 4 tracks, simultaneously, and tracked out (not producing jargon, but meaning when all the tracks are recorded on separate channels in my computer.).

My recording program is Cubase SL. I know I can route multiple inputs on Cubase, but my question is regarding the mackie, and if I can route multiple outs from that. I have Main R/L, Control Room R/L, Alt Out R/L, and Tape out rca L/R.

I know I could just read the manual and figure it out, but I'm too lazy, and I figured someone else might learn from this if I put it on here.

Thanks in advance for any help.

My friend wants to record himself playing live, through 2 or 3 guitar cabinets, using multiple mics.

My monitors are connected to the Main Out R/L of the Mackie.

If I could record only 2 tracks simultaneously, that would probably be fine though.

Mackie alt outs are going into the delta.. I suppose I could just go directly into the delta and bypass the mackie altogether, just use the mixer in cubase to set levels etc. I'll try that.

Thanks,
