After getting a little bit of airplay, MTV pulled the Boo Yaa Tribes first single Bang On which featured Mack 10, off their airwaves, because they said the video has too many gangstas, and too much gang affiliation. Boo Yaa agree'd to cut it, to take out the gang signs and the rags, but no luck, MTV refused again, saying the name of the group alone showed gang affiliation.
Right now, the Tribe's newest release "West Koasta Nostra" has sold 30,000 units with no video, and they'll have a second single coming out soon, more news on that in near future. This week Ganxta Ridd is going to be in the studio with Yukmouth to record some songs for Yuks upcoming compilation United Ghettos Of America Vol. 2. Stay tuned!

something tells me this is what could REALLY keep the west coast down...i mean if we cant represent the gangsta lifestlye then how can we do videos that are worth anything...are they saying its more negative to have dudes in rags than it is to have full on songs about people beating eachother up in the club(EVERY CRUNK SONG IS ABOUT THAT)...this shit is gay and its frustrating cuz basically if you aint making a pussy love song or a club song then Mtv wont play your shit...if i was Boo Yaa i would go to FUSE thats on digital cable and i heard they are giving Mtv a run for there money on viewership

Hypocrisy at it's finest. I see no reason why MTV will play videos that are full of half to almost naked women that talk explicitly about sex, marijuana use, and alcohol consumption, in addition to the Eminem songs, yet not play a video or song that refers to real gangsta rap. They made a killing off of that music in the late '80s and early '90s with Eazy-E and Dr. Dre and other gangsta rappers. FUCK MTV!! AND FUCK THE RADIO!!

Fuck MTV, they have no problem showing Snoop videos, or Doggy fizzle Tellevizzle, where Snoop represents his shit non-stop. MTV are a bunch of fucking hypocrits, fuck em, I dont know why folks even bother getting thier shit played on there. Everyone in the rap game should boycott thier ass.

Thats fucked up. They can show 2 wannabe dykes making out on their awards show but rappers can't wear rags? That shit all has to do with money and clout. If a big name label REALLY wanted them on MTV, like Rocafella or Def Jam they wouldn't have any problems, and we would be talking about how Bloods is becoming a fad.

it sucks but boo yaa should be aware of how things work at mtv..come on now..all flamed up flashing signs with hella tats..i mean..similar shit has made it on air but usually only by really established and financially backed artist such as snoop..cube..etc

i hope they do get there shine tho..they been at it for a while...they just gotta find another angle to come with IMO
