MPC ?

I have a MPC 2000XL with a built in zip drive and and external zip drive. However when i try to load sounds into the MPC through the external drive, it just freezes up and doesn't advance. It leaves me with the messge (Wait....) and when I try it through the internal drive it won't even agknowledge the SCSI. It's not the zip disks because I've tried every type (MAC-PC-100MB-250MB-etc.) and I'm out of ideas and can't really find any info on the internet. I'm looking for a place that repairs MPC's but before I go there I thought I'd checkl here.

any help would be appreciated.

Are the zip drives on the same ID or differ....I had that problem with IOMEGA it just wasnt compatable with the MPC only certain models are
