spec wise the MV8000 has alot on the 2500
I have two friends who have the mpc 4000 and the mv8000....they both made some beats with the mv8000...1 kept it...he is a equipment monger the other didnt like the mv8000 at all.....both been makin beats since studio 440....dmx/sp12 etc....The one who got rid of it really wanted to keep it but he said he hated the pad response(even after adjustments) and the whole process of making beats on it he said was a pain

I have only lightweight played with both at guitar center without no manual or nothing with no real hardware experience and I liked the 2500 better the display was alot easier to read the pad response and feel was better. I liked how the MVs sequencer is set up though since I'm a software guy and love the visual element but you have to spend more money on the VGA monitor. Does the MP have a harddrive like the MV does? I know the the 4 thou wow does but not sure about the 2500. The 2500 is still my favorite choice if i was to go all out and get one.

if you can get an MV for 1500-1700 I'd jump on it. Thats a good deal since spec wise the MV is comparable to the MPC 4K. You are going to get a different sound than the MPC but alot of majors support that thing. I know Jurmaine Dupri swears by that thing

I've played with the MV-8000 at The Guitar Center for a good 20 minutes once. But now that I've learned a little more about my MPC2000XL (which I'm sure is pretty similar to the 2500), I'm in love with my MPC. Like jayda said, I like the sequencer/display on the MV-8000, but I'll need some more time to play with it before I can say which is better.

the 2000xl seems weak to me specwise. Its got alot of outs which i like but no USB connection like the 1000 and 2500 have. I saw a new blue 2000 for sale at for 950 bucks not too long ago though if i had the cash i woulda jumped on it still since its still i nice piece of gear. esp at that price
