WHATUP YALL? THIS IS A GREAT FORUM THAT I HAVE SLEPT ON UNTILL NOW BUT NO MORE.. HERE'S MY QUESTION:

I HAVE HAD AN MPC 4000 FOR MAYBE 4 YEARS NOW.. PRETTY MUCH SINCE THEY CAME OUT. IT'S WORKED GREAT FOR ME AS FAR AS SEQUENCING AND PRODUCING. TILL THIS DAY I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WORKING WITH THE SAMPLING ASPECT OF THE MACHINE. IT'S NOT THAT I HAVE TROUBLE SAMPLING. I TAKE DRUMS FROM HERE AND THERE AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SNATCH OTHER SHIT IN THE PAST, IT'S WHEN I TRY AND CHOP UP AND REALLY FLIP A SAMPLE THAT I HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN I GO INTO THE SAMPLE TRIM PAGE TO REALLY GO IN AND CUT OUT WHAT I NEED THERE IS A CURSER INDICATING THE BEGINING OF THE SAMPLE THAT I CAN'T MOVE. IT'S STOPS SCROLLING BACK AT A CERTAIN POINT BEFORE THE SAMPLE IS OVER. NO MATER WHAT I TRY I CAN'T TAKE IT PAST THAT POINT SO I CAN START MY SAMPLE WHERE I NEED TO. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AND I AM BEGINNING TO THINK MY MACHINE HAS SOME KIND OF DEFECT. OR IT MIGHT JUST BE SOMETHING I'M DOING WRONG. IS THERE ANYONE ON HERE THAT IS FLUENT WITH SAMPLING ON THIS MACHINE WHO CAN HELP ME? I WILL HAVE TO CALL SOMEONE OUT TO MY LAB OTHERWISE..

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I just barely started sampling straight into the 4K and I had no problems trimming, it's pretty easy.
I just remember having to go into a certain window like the region mode instead of the trim or vice versa. It wasn't hard tho.
I got confused on what it actually trims at first, because it trims the un highlighted section I think or could be the other way around, but it was kinda tricky, played with it for about 10 minutes then it was all good. i recorded some guitar stuff directly into it, worked out fine.
