anyone heard of this?

its basically MK1, MK2 and Ultimate MK3 visually remastered in High Definition

its been rumored for a few months now...Game stop had it set for a November 2010 release...then it was removed...than it was supposed to be released again in December.

now it is said that it will be released March 2 or 3 2011 with a MK9 playable demo

it is a PS3 exclusive also

it will cost around 40 dollars

it is not on the gamestop website, but is on other websites such as FYE.com

midway filed for bankruptcy in 2009...selling off rights to most of the games

Warner Bros bought the rights to everything Mortal Kombat...so you will see the WB on everything

for WB to make maximum profit on the franchise what better way to remaster the classics in HD and possibly jump start the series back to a foward motion....this collection comes out (hopefully) in March and then MK9 in April...

everything goes down in price eventually.....people that pay full price want it now and dont care about saving a few bucks if they have to wait 2-3 months longer...i bought NBA JAM the day it released..is it worth what i paid? actually in the long run, yeah but right off the jump it was boring but since ive unlocked all the original "jam teams" its pretty fun with the HD graphics too....only downside to the game is so far lack of DLC and the secret characters are weak....

god of war collection is worth it too...id pay full price for those games again if i had to...

Mortal kombat collection for me will be a first day release buy...the first 3 games were great and i still play them....i have MK2 on the ps3....i have midways arcade classics for the psp which has arcade versions of mk1, mk2 and mk3 included, but the rumor is that WB reshot all the animations with new actors with updated current HD technology as well as 3d modeled backgrounds....if its true than its well worth the money...if its just upscaled versions than no i would probably be waiting....the fact that this game has been rumored since november 2010 to be released and hasnt tells me that WB wants it timed close MK9's release to keep hype up...or the game is a hoax and doesnt exist at all...but theh fact that major retailers have had the game on the websites and then removed and even a few still have it up...FYE,cduniverse, etc...tells me its happening but will it be what its been said to be? it apparently its 3D ready too according to packaging and will include a playable demo of mk9...well worth 40....but any game i really want i pay full price....i bought black ops for 60 and it sits with about 15 dollars of replay value for me lol..bored real quick with it...but it could be that im just tired of the series and need a break

honestly, i'd buy this shit. i'm just too much of a fan of the mythology & mortal kombat universe. back then you were either into MK or SFII. i was into MK, probably mostly for the atmosphere & characters alone. better fighters than both exist these days.. but there will always be a nostalgic soft spot in my heart for mortal kombat. not to mention, the new game actually looks good.

fuck what you say though, i've liked every game except mk vs dc (which i refuse to play).

No hate but that looks like some ameteur shit I see from a group of kids that mod games for free.

Looks like they stepped it up to N64/Cheap PS2 graphics. They can do better than that.
