Monitor Speakers...

looking to get some powered monitor speakers...was gonna get the m-audio bx8's but i seen these here

alesis for 199 on sale... just wondered if they any good i know this the spot to ask...oh yea i got just a lil bedroom setup with mbox, turntables is all im using em for i just want better sound than these computer speakers..

If you on a budget I know guitar center had some krk rokit 8s and they are active(powered) they are great for mixing better then alot at higher prices, remember you want a speaker thats neutral that wont color your sound( bring out highs and lows etc) then you play on regular system and your mix is off, if it wasnt important you could buy computer speakers

thanks all for the replies...well i couldnt get my dad to let me use his credit card...or i woulda got something cheap off the net...so i had to go to the local guitar center got taxed 450$..got the krk's all they had...im impressed too...got the rokit 8's..some monster cables for 50 bones... all i need now is the sub... but hell it sounds real good im satisfied

I wish i had the cash for a better monitoring system, I have to go back and fourth from my setup to my car to make my mixes sound good, make mental notes and tweak my shit till it sounds good in there. It usually takes a few tries to get it right. Fuck it I figure if it sounds good in a high end car system, it will sound good in most other listining environments. Like I said its all i got for the moment till i have the cash for something better.

you made the right choice Ive compared many a speaker, unless you trying to spend thousansa then yo aint gonna get no better those are great speakers,and they will definatley get the job done

man, some speakers JUST SUCK
and i can have the "best" speakers in the world, they might not work in my room
accoustics plays a big part
but for me, my philisophy is(warning this is horrible advice and don't listen to me) get monitors that lots of hits have been mixxed with, and if you can get it to translate outside of your system, then go back untill you realize what you need to change
i mixxed ont he shittiest speakears for so long, i learned how to ruin my music in advance, for them to sound horrible on my speakrs, but sound great on peoples car systems
but you probably don't understand what the fuck i'm saying
anyways, right now i have some Genelec 8040a's sitting in the box waiting to be used
i'm sure i'll hate them for the first 15 botched mixxes, and then kill with them
