is this true? has anybody tried it?

im going to look into it,cause if this really works i am ordering tatsunoko vs capcom TONIGHT

It's been a long time since I had my Wii modded.

What you're talking about is a soft hack. Where you use a game save file for the Legend of Zelda. That game save file can be modified into something called the "Twilight Hack." With this you can install .wad files or "channels" in the Wii.

When I went to get my chip installed (hard hack), the guy told me to never burn games from a different region [PAL] and play them otherwise my Wii would brick.

If a hard hack can't let you play other region games, I don't see the soft hack doin it. But it's been a long time since I've looked up info about it. You might want to do your research Jake.

yeah,i have been reading about it. it seems to be strickly for loading roms and stuff from your SD card. the region code breaking only comes into effect as far as playing dvds, and they said even that has a chance of bricking

the way my friend was explaining it made it sound more like a hard hack where it would permanently remove any region codes

The last time I was in Hongkong they told me to buy this CD for the Wii that will allow you to play games from all different regions. Looked legit. I didn't buy it though.

pal isos will work but you have to install a patcher that converts the pal to a ntsc

i got a handful of cards from a friend of mine that he came up on. its just temporary until i get a hard rive though because the max sd card a wii will allow is 4gb and a wii game image is 4.37gb

so in the meantime i was just loading gamecube games on them just to give it a try (GC games are only 1.35)
