I was wondering if anyone has any stories or opinions about getting a mod chip for an X-Box because I'm thinking about installing one, but I'm leaning more toward the "no" side although getting one doesn't seem so bad.
A friend went through three PS2's after getting a mod chip. The first one, he broke and the other two worked fine, but stopped working after a while. Think I'll I experience this with the X-Box?

Also... what kind of DVD player plays VCD's? My main intention for getting the mod chip is to be able to watch VCD's (maybe even burnt DVD's.) Getting a DVD player that reads VCD's sounds a lot less of a risk and will avoid un-necessary money loss. Any recommendations?

that x box mod chip is a BIIIIIIG RISK. my baby mommas husband is a big ole computer nerd and he had troubles with installing it and getting it to work. i would wait til they come out with a plug and play model or one that doesnt require soldering 29 wires. TINY WIRES AT THAT!!.

ALSO, those little cheap dvd players that you get for 60 or 70 bucks at wal mart play vcd's and mp3's if thats your thing.

I've never seen a VCD and tried avoiding them. I recently went to eBay and bid (eventually won) on a two items that I didn't see were VCD's and I didn't want to take up the seller's time so I went through with the deal. "Two VCD's won't hurt," I thought.
Now I'm stuck with them unless I can sell them or find somebody with an operating machine that's able to read them.

Can I use messenger even though I don't have an account with AOL? I remember hearing something about charging people who use it, but don't have an AOL account... did this ever happen? Let me know.
