did any of yall just do mock covers for your portfolio when you started out in the game?

everything ive ever showcased has been client work...

no, not for a portfolio.... only client work.

Um ... of course I started with mock covers (actually mock flyers) but the group I did them for saw them and asked me to do a cover for them, so as far as portfolio goes, I always showed client work, and beside those 3 mock flyers (that turned official later on) I never did something lol

I started out with mock covers, but every mock cover I ever did was later turned into client work and I would just change a lil' text or picture placement. I think I might have 1 or 2 that I actually did that were never reused, but that was way back in 2004.
