CONGRATS..........

but that was due strictly to the demand from the streets.........not because KBMB is good lookin' out.
it's going to be harder to get it on KSFM, because of their "barbie girl" playlist, and conservative Program and Music Directors. I would like to think forums like the siccness, actually REACH the desired target audience. For instance, people come to the 916 page, are lookin' for that Ripgut/Mobb shit, so that's the kind of artists network on this page. When you spend dollars at a major station, you're not guarenteed any more response then if you put that money into marketing yourself. Once the streets are bangin' it, the stations will fall in line.....i.e. Super Hyphy, and 4Tay's Playa's Club. These records were gettin' slapped in every scraper from here to the Bay in their respective times, and only when the streets DEMANDED to hear it, the stations followed suit. Ebro and I brought Playa's Club into a music meeting, just knowin' it was gonna get added to the playlist, why not, it's a great song, AND it big upps Sac...station has to play it right?..NOPE...4 MONTHS after KMEL played Playa's Club, KSFM has the nerve to add the song and say..."1st in Northern California to bring you this..." GET THE FUCK OUTTA here!!
Super sick wid it has been out since...May, and radio is just NOW playin' it.....Mark 7 had that in the damn cinco de mayo mixx, so props to the cats in the streets that really make the music do what it do.

the fans, and the DJs.

peace

That's good news , but why doesn't Sac ever play SAC artists? Besides on the one late night mix show (on Sunday)
Seems like we're always jumpin on the next big thing from the Bay Area, but never anyone from our own town. I like Bay Area music just as much as the next man, but if Sac is gonna blow we need to start puttin our locals in the rotation. It's obvious the Bay does.

I'm feelin' you on that mane....that;s because cats in Sac aren't really into that mainstream sound, so they don't get love on the stations. that's why n****s need to support stations like KNOZ, or start your own station...it's legal now. The price you are going to pay for getting your songs played on the radio is about what it would cost to get your own station off of the ground. We have to get it through our heads that KSFM and KBMB will NOT play local music, so FUCK THEM!! Go and holler at the cats that will. Generate your own buzz, and they HAVE to fall in line.

No doubt there was a time that the Bay did not play Bay music not too long ago. We started hittin streets and neighborhoods, schools & Boys Clubs. Everywhere and anywhee the radio will never believe you are a star until someone else tells them. So build your buzz and your star power become famous where you represent youe CD not your CD represents you. Get some face time with the people that make decisions. Stay doing it don't stop don't complain Then one day BAM you are on. Then thats when it gets tough. You now have to stay hot... Buisness and Music....

On the real its all Promotin here in Sac, on Either dial.
I aint listened to the Bomb for a minute cause of what Lrray did with KNOZ but if 103.5 is gonna start pushin more of the local I may start to tune back in.

Till then I will still do my thang with my Folks at that future Flavor Show and push the Locals.
