Hyphy is just a label to try to sell bay area rap, honestly i don't think our sound has changed all that much. I think if Atlantic pushes Fab the right way he can sell very well but they aren't that much of a big daddy label as people might think. i can't think of the last Hip Hop act they had on their shit and they hella dropped the ball on YBB in my opinion in the 90s so we'll see how shit turns out. I'm not the biggest Fabby fan out there but i hope the best for him

The worst that that happened to Hyphy was that it was branded a movement, it shouldve been acknowledged but never labeled that way, once shit is branded before it gets to blow itll hurt it, bad marketing.

I feel that. But the bay is partly responsible for pushin it as a movement too

T.I., Lupe Fiasco, Trick Daddy, Young Dro, Missy Elliott, Fat Joe are all on Atlantic. FAB's deal is a label deal for Thizz/Faeva Afta. I think it's a pretty safe bet that he'll have a few "hyphy" songs for radio but he'll also come with some more introspective, intelligent shit. I hope it gets pushed right.

T.I., Missy Elliott, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Juvenile, Lil' Kim, Sean Paul, Trick Daddy, Twista, Young Dro, Lupe Fiasco, Paul Wall, Trina, Diddy, D4L, and Pretty Ricky just to name the ones i can think of...Atlantic might have the MOST hip hop acts that put out an album last year. Not to mention T.I., who for most of the year was the only rap album to go platinum.
