Publishing and administration company Missing Link Music congratulates their producer Sidney "Omen" Brown for contributing production to Drake's #1 debut album "Thank Me Later". Omen co-produced the song "Shut It Down" which also features The-Dream, and additional production from Noah "40" Shebib. "Thank Me Later" debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 album chart with over 447,000 units sold, making it 2010's highest charting debut for a solo artist. "Thank Me Later" also debuted at #1 on Billboard's Digital Albums chart and #1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
"Omen is the perfect representation of what Missing Link Music looks for in the writers we sign," says JD Dallam, president of Missing Link Music. "His first placement came in 1999, and more than 10 years later he is still making music that matters to people." Omen first received production credit for the song "Everybody," featured on Memphis Bleek's Roc-A-Fella debut "Coming Of Age". Further placements include major albums by Fabolous, Keith Murray, and Mya. In 2007 Omen won a Grammy award in the Best Rap Album category for his work on Ludacris' "Release Therapy"; Omen produced "Tell It Like It Is" which was featured as the b-side to Ludacris's #1 smash single "Money Maker."
Now Omen is focusing on the development of his production house, Elaborate Musik Orchestra. Missing Link Music has given Omen full assistance in finding the right talent for him to work with, including giving him unlimited access to their roster of credited songwriters and producers. So far, Missing Link Music producer and pianist Antoine "Audio Blk" Baldwin has caught Omen's ear, and officially signed on to be an in-house producer for Elaborate Musik Orchestra in the beginning of June.
"I take pride in knowing the strengths and needs of our producers. After seeing Antoine's abilities on the keys and getting to know him as a person, I knew that he and Omen would mesh on both a creative and personal level," says Missing Link Music A&R Sean O'Neal, who formally introduced the two. Since their initial pairing, Audio BLK has worked consistently alongside Omen out of Harlem's world class recording studio Stadium Red, where producer Just Blaze has also taken residency. With this amount of creativity you can expect to hear Elaborate Musik Orchestra's production on a lot of upcoming major label releases.
