Recently Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has been focusing on training boxing for particitaing in the Olympics 2008 of Beijin. Actually he showed excellent performances and got the bronze medal at the Pan-American tournament in July.
In his latest interview on Japanese martial arts magazine "KAKUTOGI-TSUSHIN" he declared the desire for the Olympics participation.
On the other hand he revealed that he had received offer from UFC. "I want to restart training MMA by the end of the year. I'll move to the United States with my brother Minotauro. His new training gym in Florida is supposed to open in November."
However, according to GRACIEMAG.com, Rogerio's name is not on the list of Brazilian national team for the qualifying competition for the Olympic Games 2008. The competition is to be held in Chicago from Octber 23th to November 3rd. Gidelson Oliveira is the representative Brazil of +91kg category, instead of Rogerio. Oliveira was a reserve fighter at the PanAm games in July.
