Hey homie, I got one of them Optimus keyboards too. Fools always clown me cause its a Radio Shack keyboard, but fuck em. Ive been using it as a MIDI controller in FL Studio for a bit now, and it works just fine as a controller. My friend works at Radio Shack and gave the shit to me out the back door if you know what I mean.

You just need a midi cable to hook up to your soundcard. If you have a shoddy soundcard like a soundblaster or worse that doesn't have a real midi, you have to get a midi->serial cable adapter. Those run about $20

Hey Bumpus, I have an Audigy Platnium with the front bus interface... how do those rate? It seems to work fine for me, but there is a little lag in the latency. Is that because of the Audigy, or is it another problem? Ive fucked with the buffers and all that.

Sound blaster soundcards are notorious for having latency problems. If you've played with the buffers and have the most up to date drivers, then that is as good as you'll get with that card. You could get another card for $100 with no noticable latency. Think about something by Maudio or STAudio DSP24 value.
