Corporate wars are the silent conquests of this age.
It is amusing to watch the personifed gore of the economic and power struggles of these IT institutions.
I equate there arguments and bickering comparative to that of the siccness just with real and higher stakes.
I don't know how many of you watch the stock market or corporate america but It's better than a soap opera Jenny Jones and a boxing match rolled into one.
for those who don't know SCO (formerly known as caldera a Linux company) is bleeding money as a last ditch effort to stay a float its sueing IBM for a billion dollars (literally) for allegedly infringing on there IP (intellectual property) UNIX, indirectly by IBM supplanting promotion its major support for its UNIX based OS's for Linux.
Microsoft has been losing market share to Linux and has now made it a priority to discredit and destroy it.
Therefore Microsoft is validating SCO's assertion by buying a license which is strange considering UNIX is a rival to Windows.
Since the ramification's of this suit can adversely effect corporate infrastucture around the world Novell (not to mention MANY others) is stepping in as big brother to thwart SCO's effort by professing its ownership of UNIX and threatening SCO to retract it's claim.
I don't know about you but that shit reminds me of the same shit that goes on here just on a different level.
