And the people defending him in the article are completely missing the point. By saying that the Mexicans are doing the work that “even the blacks won’t do”, it is obviously placing blacks at the lower end of the totem pole, so to speak. He could have said “Mexicans are doing the work that Americans won’t do.”

its something non-pc, you don't see a lot of politicians going out and saying these kind of things cause you know it causes controversy. Its probably true, but its still not something you go out and say.

this also got me "in a country where blackface comedy is still considered funny and nicknames often reflect skin color"

I agree its not PC and he probably should have said "than most Americans wont do" but that's how it is in Mexico. There is not much hypocritical PC jargon around.

Most skin color nicknames are for Huero, which means lightskinned. I know about 6 different Hueros so the article makes it sound worse than it is.

Im not the designted Mexican President defender so I'm going to end it here. There is something to be said about losing the meaning in literal translation.

Agreed. But why the fuck is he complaining about the work they do? First off, he's MEXICO's president he should be more concerned with Mexico's economy and people than the Mexicans in the U.S. Second this shit makes Mexicans look bad BUT I feel many many Mexicans agree with him. Last, WHAT FUCKIN' GOOD JOB DO YOU EXPECT THEM TO DO IF THEY CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH??? (this is what I'm talking about in the thread I made at the GOM). The fuck are you complaining? Dumb fucker.
