now i love this shit, that lucas salt, tamarind pulps / spoons, those little mango chile suckers all that shit, its what was available at the store growing up

but damn did you know this shit has a bunch of lead in it? i was bored and googled the pack of "pica fresa's" i was eating and apparantly the stuff i like the most, the candies with chile on it are usually the worse. and that lucas salt everyone was sucking down has like 3 times the limit of lead in each little thing... lol... sorry if im late but im just finding out

I figured this shit would have had to be on here, so props to gas for making the thread first, but i honestly never knew

im glad i never got into eating that powdered lemon lucas like some of the other kids growing up... some of those ppl bought it by the case and sucked it down till their tongues bled, wonder how many of them had toxic levels of lead in their systems

and damn i wont give up tamarindo... that shits a monthly ritual to pick up some form of it in pulp candy form or just the fruit with the seed

i dont eat anything from mexico, sorry but i like clean food. Their gov't is waaaay to lax on their food quality standards
i honestly dont see how it is any lower than any fast food restaurant or diner in the U.S. I was a dishwasher/toilet cleaner in high school at a dennys and i remember cats would use the same metal brush on the toilet that they would use on the pots and pans.

i remember a long time ago back in union city, there was this small mexican grocery on the corner of alvarado-niles and mann / union square... they sold these lollipops that were a light blue color mixed with some other random colors... and on the back of these lollipops where short phrases for kids such as "estudio mucho".... i can't remember what they were called or even if they make them anymore (this was back in 1994), but they were good as fuck
