The westcoast shouldn't be satisfied with getting these little articles in the most powerful rap magazine. Niggaz need full stories, full album reviews, and much more. THE SOURCE & XXL need to quit hating on the left coast and midwest. :devious:

I think that it's a step in the right direction, because in all truth Bay artist are not moving units in comparison to the rest of the country. Frontline was in XXL, Keak was in the Source, EA SKI was just in the XXL and now Messy is in the Source as well...it's getting better. You got to remember these dudes are NOT on major labeles and they are NOT moving big units (Messy ain't sold no 40,000 units per project, maybe all togeather) and this is a start...The only major label dudes out here now is the Federation (and most agree Sac. ain't the Bay) So from The V to San Jose and everywhere in between there is no major label rap artist (40 ain't on Jive no-more...after this last project) Anyway, I am not a Messy fan, but it is good to see him get some ink for all of the hard word that he has put in.

Man, don't bring up no old stuff from 1998. THIS IS 2004!!! In the last 5 years the westcoast and midwest then got pushed to the back of the bus. TWISTA is getting love only because KANYE WEST did beats for JAY Z and he dropped a gem for TWISTA and them magazines jumped on TWISTA'S bandwagon even though we all know TWISTA don't need high profile producers in order to produce dope music. Even D 12 didn't get much love in the magazines for their new one. I'm glad SLUM VILLAGE has an article in XXL but E 40 HAS NEVER MADE THE COVER OF THE SOURCE. My question is why not when lames make the cover multiple times?

i just hope for the day when mac dre, nickatina, xraided, or somebody make the cover of xxl or source. a couple months back when the source did an article on 'hip hop behind bars" about all the rappers who were in jail, there was not one mention of xraided and hes made hella albums outta jail. if you gonna mention jailed rappers ya cant pass him up, so i wrote em an email and shit but i knew that wouldnt do nothin.... its time for all of west coast ta step up... ASIDE FROM dr. dre or snoop.

I saw the page in the nu source, its a good start; but u know when all them mainstream ass hip-hop, pop fans read that shit, they usually overlook and skip the independent rap articles and ads and read all them bullshit 50 Cent and Jay-Z and D12 articles everyday.

i had an article from a few years ago that i had cut out about San Francisco. it was about the Hunter's Point feud, between WestMob and BigBlock, and they were totally off point on it. it did have Suga bear's "from roads to riches" album cover in the article. anyway, on the cover of the source of that issue, it said along the top something like "are there really gangs in San Francisco?" like it was something people couldnt believe. it was total bullshit, and they didnt even mention the death of Mr. C.
